They have us fighting against each other for our own jobs! Not what this company used to be about... But just to give my 2 cents, I'm in SO region, and our store was the guinea pig for all of this restructure. We had our first round of layoffs 6... — read more
Not directly affected
I was not directly affected by this because I have only been with the company for roughly 2 years, and am still a normal team member. However, this did affect me in the sense that it completely diminished any interest I had in working hard to move up... — read more

How discouraging
For anyone who stood up and fought for Wfm over the years and for anyone who is left after this. The last year of hard work didn't pay off like they told us it would...
looks like I picked the right time to leave
after years of drinking the koolaid I finally wised up and decided that I could be happier and more excellent elsewhere. I can say this was not a surprise and I felt that this was coming all along. The company has changed fundamentally and is a mere... — read more
17 years of a family feeling gone on the blink of an eye.
Its all about me from now on! I wasted a long time concerned about the companys well being. Some of the most curious people during all this has been the team members who havent been laid off (yet). I would bet that they are the most likely to be... — read more
Artists?
How are the artists being affected so far?
Hope this helps clear some things...
Each region was given a target to hit for cuts to labor by eliminating positions. It was up to each region to decide how to achieve those cuts. TMs who held those positions will have to find work elsewhere in the company or take a severance (based on... — read more
Holiday table?
Our customers have come to expect a certain very high level of team member service. Who is going to tackle the holiday table and run their turkeys? I am (was) on the marketing team and know how hard we all worked for two months straight to perform... — read more
Do you think they consulted their Feng Shui master before the announcement?
"Hahahaha yes they did and I hear there are plans of mass store sageing once they clear everyone out." I am not trying to belittle what is happening btw, more curious about how they are justifying doing this while presenting a front as an ethical... — read more
A bit on the etiquette here
A suggestion(s) from an outsider (working for a high-tech company)... It's smart to keep it civil here. Stay away from swearing, admins will delete your posts. Defamation or sharing of anyone's personal information will make them delete your posts. I... — read more
This is a nightmare. How can a billion dollar company like WFM get to this point? Why couldn't there have been cost cutting steps taken along
the way. We all know people in out stores and region that don't perform, programs that are broken and lots of areas where we waste money. Why hasn't leadership been proactive? This is so sad to me and did not have to get to this point.
F*** Off John Mackey, start at the top!!!
Our regional president Omar Gaye came from the dish pit and has proven that he belongs right back where he started. So instead of starting at the top and getting rid of or reducing the pay of some executives and coordinators they decided like any good... — read more

Stop opening so many fing stores. You can't even supply the stores you have now appropriately. I hope PETA wins it's lawsuit. I absolutely love my team and my management. Making them do this to the staff they care about fing sucks.
Whole Foods is turning into Walmart at a blazing speed

WFM Exec's are back stabbed.
i worked for wfm for 14 years. They don't care about tm's, just about their 6 and 7 figure executive salaries. They vote to give themselves 1000's of shares of stock options then crap on everyone else. They lie. They cheat. They only self serve.
