Will we be able to get severance again?

If we were laid off prior and come back to the company in another role do we get severance again if laid off again. Or is it a one time thing per employee? I was able to save up and not use all the severance other than the prorated portion that I am... — read more

I don't want to get burned twice

When I joined Allstate I thought I was making the right move for my career. That turned out not to be true much quicker than I could have ever imagined. Now, I've found another position but I'm too scared to accept. I'm worried I might end up in a... — read more

Transformative Greed

First let me welcome the company internal auditors, security and whatever hired to do damage control since this site started trending on social media. Oh IM a crazy conspiracy theorist. Okay. Transformative Growth is a nothing but cutting costs... — read more

Allstate is a disappointment to everyone

My question is for those who are new to this company: how quickly were you disappointed to have accepted the job here? Despite my advice to try somewhere else, my friend’s son accepted a job at Allstate, regretted it in two months, and is already... — read more

I don't want to do someone else's job

I had already taken on a lot of work after my colleague left. Now another colleague has left Allstate and there are good chances that I will have to take over his job as well. I absolutely don't want that. I mean, even if I wanted to, I couldn’t... — read more

Layoffs 2021 look to be underway

My thoughts and positive vibes to everyone and all areas that are or to be impacted. Everyone will end up better in the long run and it will all be ok.

Desensitized to layoffs

I think there have been so many cuts here recently, small and large, that we've become desensitized to it. I remember when every mention of layoffs caused outrage among everybody. Now, most people glance over it and move on. Unless it affects us... — read more

Claims Cuts Underway

50+ in processing and over 20 in SIU got their walking papers on Thursday. Other claims areas to be impacted over time through August as the expected transition of claims to India starts to take hold and becomes reality.

Some claims processors got 60 day notices

Two folks I know got their 60 day notices today. Same severance package as usual. Not certain how many impacted today for sure but there were over 20 people in their meeting. The two I know were tenured more than 5 years.

Toxic auto environment

I work in Auto and have never been so stressed in my life. Everyone is on edge and ready to push work off onto others and point fingers. Can’t say I’ll be doing the “right” thing much longer. Doing the right thing only results in coaching about... — read more

Skills that make you less replaceable?

Some argue that you are less likely to be cut if you have more skills. I don't really believe it, because I know of people who had very specialized skills, but Allstate got rid of them very easily. Anyway, I'm interested in what are the specialized... — read more

Lead attorneys at SCO do nothing

Genuinely curious if yours actually do anything? They are laying off good attorneys and keeping these Leads who do literally nothing all day.

Eric Brandt salary

Disclosures show Brandt has total compensation of around $1.1 million a year. This really isn’t super high when you think about it....more like highly paid doctor or lawyer level. People should quite acting like he is making all this money or a... — read more

Did Allstate really need Nat Gen?

I don't think so, and it's better that the purchase didn't happen. I have a bad feeling that the end of that story will be very sad, with a lot of losses and a lot of layoffs.

We get this off this year (Friday before is the business day before holiday in 2021) or was it a one time thing in 2020?

Allstate is poorly run

I swear, this has to be the worst company I have ever worked for. The incompetence on all levels of management is astounding. All the changes made in the past several years make no sense. It makes you wonder if the ELT has any idea what they're... — read more

SCO (Legal)

Others have posted that there will be layoffs in legal - I have not heard this. I think there will be some positions which become “redundant “, but Legal saves the company TONS of money & most legal departments are quite busy - so why would they lay... — read more

Returning laptop

Been gone for 5 months now, and still no word on returning my monitor and laptop. When do they usually reach out? Could they just be so unorganized that they don’t know what equipment I have??

Not trying to repair the damage?

Does it seem to you that this company is not doing anything to repair the damage caused by poorly made moves? It's sometimes fascinating to me that Allstate isn't doing much about it. Even if they try sometimes, it obviously doesn't work out the... — read more

Running on auto pilot

Anyone else on autopilot mode? I used to wake up dreading the workday and after a while I lost all motivation to work. Now I only work the bare minimum. There is no longer any hope that Allstate can motivate employees to be more engaged. As for me... — read more

Tom Wilson deserves his salary

Let’s be honest, $16 million a year to Tom is fair because of how much responsibility he has, and how much hard work he has to do.

Whose work should be a priority?

Whenever someone leaves, their job is transferred to the rest of us. That way I now do work for several people. It becomes unclear which job should be a priority, whether I should continue to be the most dedicated to my job or whether the priority... — read more

Purposeful

This company is doing everything as sneaky as possible to make adjusters quit. Tremendous file load, processes, and short staffing. Obviously, they want all to leave so they can ramp up India adjusters. What a mess

Food for thought

This is for those who have remained loyal to the company. I’m going to tell you what someone told me a long time ago before he was laid off. If the company doesn’t care then why should you? Let that sink in for a minute. Misplaced loyalty won’t... — read more
