Topics regarding layoffs at AT&T

Pure toxic

This company has fostered, incubated and grown to a full size adult one of the most toxic cultures and work environments I have ever experienced.

Mid Market is going up in flames

I heard they are cutting all mid market in half! Including operations and COE… After they made people move to Dallas. The strategy set up by operations is not working and upper leadership wants operations to change asap to build a better strategy... — read more

Resistance is Futile!

Says the AT&T Borg. You will comply and bow to the collective! Layoffs, Relocation and RTO will continue because you matter.

Dead peasant insurance

I heard residuals came in to Att coffers this month for DPI. Can't go broke making money off of former/future dead employees even if they are/were 2nd class.

What’s the latest Layoff and D3 Bargaining News?

Been incommunicado since the weekend, tubing, skiing and fishing at the lake. I saw someone mentioned wave 2 layoffs, what organizations and numbers? I heard more CP were being called up, any truth to that? Has there been anymore CP accidents, hope... — read more

Do Unions Really Care?

Had an issue in NJ where union employees retired and their work went to non union and rumor is off shore. No one cared. Never investigated. The jobs not posted. That is what the dues are for.

Are unions a scam?

Unions are just another lobbyist. They do not care about the people they represent, they only care about taking your money so they have more power and influence in DC. I’m sure most of you CWA folks have been here a while. Ask yourselves, what has... — read more

Water main break destroys home in Fort Worth

https://youtu.be/h1LQVilLj6g?si=VXqglGTpcZhtWf92 YouTube comment: This sounds like an AT&T subcontractor! AT&T is notorious for hiring incompetent subcontractors who consequently break water lines and gas lines, too! They've done that here in... — read more

GES Mobility

Rumor has it that GES Mobility will have another layoff round in OCT…anyone else hear this?

What's keeping you at T?

Personally, I'm waiting to be laid off. I want to leave but I also don't want to do Stankey and his cronies any favors by walking away for free. I figured, with the frequency of layoffs, my time is bound to come within a year or two at the most, and... — read more

Reality Setting In?

The company is playing chess while CWA is playing checkers. The union sounds defeated in their last update, employees are already whining about not having any money, and the house of cards is falling. We knew AT&T didn’t care about its customers or... — read more

Welcome back to 5 days a week in-office!

With the new Occupancy Indicators (OI) rolling out across the country, you may ask yourself what "FTO" stands for. It means "Full Time Office" Worker. If you're interested in the other letter or other OI, check out HR OneStop and search for U.S... — read more

New indicators

Anyone knows how many days a MS will Have to be in the office per week?

Something fishy is going on

Updates galore about who brought lunch and how bad the company is, then all of a sudden Saturday was the last update. What is the union not telling us? Seems like someone jumped the g-n. Why wasn't our contract extended like in 2019? 12 days after... — read more

Mobility Union

I am glad for the strike! I am glad at least this part of the Union fights for them! I must say the Union for the Gulf States is horrible! We have NO ONE that understands mobility and its operations! This so called guy in the guy in Mississippi... — read more

2 days

Looks like we're going on 2 days with no update, wonder what the deal is.

Is this old?

It’s on CWA District 3’s website but doesn’t have a date. It shows up first on a google search. CWA District 3 Reaches Tentative Agreement with AT&T Contact: Candice Johnson, cjohnson@cwa-union.org, and 202-434-1168 and Linda Crawford... — read more

Occupancy Indicators

What’s with the new OI’s in PHONE? A lot of them have changed from FOW/FTO/TW to NFOW, NFTO, and NVW. What’s the “N”mean?

Why I hate AT&T

They put you in a ridiculous situation and then gas light you into thinking you are the issue, that you aren’t working hard enough or you are thinking wrong etc. total cult.

Dear Union Employees

You have the full support of lower-level AT&T management. As with many of my peer management colleagues, I hope you get what you deserve. Stinky, coupled with corporate America's avarice, will try to take as much as they can. Stick to what you... — read more

What is "The Portal" as it relates to RTO?

My boss just told me to let him know when I need to work from home on occasion (as we are required to be in office 5 days per week) so that he can enter it into "the portal". I didn't even want to ask what that means exactly. I just assume I must... — read more

Pension or cash balance

I’m hearing that SBC/ at &T wants to take the pension away from the District 3 strikers, and give them cash balance . Is that true? If so, anyone with 30-40-50 years service, if you retire before a new contract is ratified, will that grandfather... — read more

Mid market

Anyone know how much longer this will go on? It’s not profitable, people aren’t making money and it’s not sustainable. How long before fundamental change?

IHX surplusses happening now

Guess att doesn't want to pay for people to sit around during this strike. If you recently had people leave, count yourself lucky! Just got a call about my headcount going from 12 down to 8! Now I have to tell my new employees that they're being let... — read more

Strike Dist. 3

District 3 here, any news confirmed or rumors, not like CWA for our area post any info anywhere. Details of what was discussed? I understand T wants big changes for new contract, what are they?

Townes org surplus -Atlanta

Project managers in Atlanta in CS&O getting surplus notifications today. No Joy being in a hub location (and these are folks that have complied with 5 days RTO, not 3)

Approximately 1700 workers deployed (as of when?)

From the CP portal, not sure how long this has been up: CWA initiates a work stoppage in the Southeast, starting August 16 Approximately 1700 Contingency Workers have been officially deployed to their Contingency Assignment.

Biggest Losers in this Strike IHX and Fiber

Techs aren’t getting paid because of a conscious choice they are making… The company should suffer in this because they won’t pay the techs…. What the F did IHX and Fiber do to deserve to be caught up in this and this make no money…. This is... — read more

Report for CP duty

Best way for manager to avoid injury who is called for CP duty?

Stankey Rally

T stock up 40% in the last year. 18% YTD. Probably break above $20/share this week. RTO and management layoffs is working.

Tear down the executive culture

@union, @lvl1, lvl2 look out for each other Don’t look out for level 3’s and up. They are under crippling orders to not look out for you. Change the culture. A workforce that is ineffective together isn’t a reflection on individuals, it’s a... — read more
