Topics regarding layoffs at AT&T

It is always somebody elses fault

It is the government and department of justice, it is Wall Street, it is Covid, it is the employees. Stephenson was a cuck and Stankey is a Grade A Toxic A Ho-e. For years the SBC culture is rooted in toxicity, bully tactics, and incompetence... — read more

Bull Market vs. AT&T Retuns

Share holders would have been better off if the company was liquidated at the beginning of the year and put into an unmanaged S&P ETF fund!! Instead we got the unwinding of two failed mergers, countless reorganizations and a dividend cut! The only... — read more

I have a non-layoff question. Please don't get mad!

If you are offered a job with a minimum pay greater than your current salary, is it 100% sure that you will get that bottom number? Say it's a 16k bump. You are NOT getting anything higher generally speaking, are you? 🤔

Market is hot

I managed to find a new job not long after I started searching and it is better paid as well. It took about a dozen applications in my case. After giving notice, it’s harder for me to work here now than ever to finish up these last few days. I can't... — read more

CFO

Man, I know Pascal Desroches is a smart guy, but he is still a terrible and uninspiring leader. Better than he once was, but there was literally, no place to go but up.

VETERANS DAY

Seems the Executive level forgot. Not one email from the VP and above that historically come on this day. That speaks volumes. Thank you to all I have served with and those who served.

Did CWA really file a grievance?

Rumor going around SoCal garages is that CWA filed an executive-level grievance against the mandate. Is there any truth to this?

Retired and Rehired

Took the craft buyout in 2020. Rode UE for 15 months , then cashed in on my extensive fiber background. 43 1/2 years, almost 20 in fiber ….this company excitedly gobbled me up and made a generous offer. Hated working at the MOST pimpy company... — read more

They have yet to see how hard it is to hire new people

Easy to layoff people, much harder to hire people. Pay isn’t competitive, promotions and career growth are limited. If you have marketable and in demand skills, why would you want to come and work here? Exactly what I'm thinking. I don't want to... — read more

AT&T Breakup

I can see AT&T following the GE model and breaking itself up into wireless, wireline and wholesale. This would unlock some value for stockholders and hopefully get rid of the inept management. As long as Stankey and his staff remain in charge there... — read more

Y'all Dreaming

I've had the misfortune of working for TWO companies that were acquired by AT&T. Left ASAP after the second go around. AT&T management still sucks. And by the way, hate to break it to the old entitled white guard that seem to dominate this board... — read more

VPs and Officers have been given retention bonuses

All VPs and Officers have been given proactive retention bonuses to stay with T. As far as how much they’ve been given, not sure. A director friend just quit last week and was offered a $100k / 3 yr retention bonus but said KMA and walked anyways. — read more

Everyone should be making a plan

AT&T doesn’t have much of a choice but to find ways to shrink the number of longterm employees. Employees with many years of service are just too expensive to maintain given the massive debt load. I’m fully expecting additional efforts next year... — read more
