Topics regarding layoffs at AT&T

Thank you AT&T for Vax announcemnt

T doesn’t always make the right decisions, but they do deserve credit where credit is do. Making the Vax mandatory was the right move. I feel much more comfortable now going forward that my workplace will be safe.

MY CONCERN AT AT&T...

The company is being ran like the federal government now and we have managers at T who are no benefit to society ............ and the people around them .

“game changing” announcement tomorrow

I was told that an announcement will be sent tomorrow related to vaccination, face masks, etc. and the insinuation was that it may be employees being required to vaccinate. That this was going to be a significant policy chance, not just another off... — read more

September 15

There is a lot of rumors about this date. I hope there will be no layoffs because rumors never appear just like that without there being at least a little truth in them. Does anyone have verified info?

Why do many want layoff?

I’m no longer as engaged as I used to be because I’ve been convinced many times that ATT doesn’t value my efforts but I’m still working pretty hard and I hope to be able to stay here for as long as I feel like it. The company is no longer what it... — read more

Mandatory Vaxx

Anyone else hearing rumblings of this as a way to drive people out of the business?

If you could work for any company, what would it be?

I used to dream of leaving AT&T behind for Tesla, but I got disillusioned quickly when it comes to that place. My priorities changed as well. Now my dream job has to have job security, so Apple has jumped high on my list (although a software engineer... — read more

How will ATT Wireless compete?

As employees with near 50% off I still pay more than comparable plans with Cricket and Metro PCS. T-Mobile plans are far more reasonable and no junk fees. If I wasn't subsidized I would go straight to another provider. How can they continue to charge... — read more

Remote jobs

People keep saying this is the best time to leave if you don't want to RTO, that there are many remote jobs available in some of the top companies and I have to ask: where are you finding these jobs? I've been looking everywhere and what I'm finding... — read more

Pension Lump Sum eliminated?

I’m an active employee with a nice lump sum pension coming my way when I terminate employment (and also eligible for subsidized health care premiums). What are the chances that AT&T will eliminate the lump sum option in 2022 and go back to the... — read more

AT&T Layoff Incentive

Personally, I don't see or sense that there's going to be any kind of Incentive Package to leave in 2021. If so, you'll hear in October. Good luck!

Sometimes I miss it

I left a little over 6 months ago. My situation has improved, but not as much as I had hoped. Sometimes I do think of what could have been if I had stayed, but I am reminded of why I left in the first place after reading the posts here. I guess this... — read more

Makes no sense

Everywhere I look (I'm not talking just about T, but overall) I see studies that say productivity increased during WFH. In some cases, significantly. I'm yet to find a company that said its productivity went down. Still, more and more companies are... — read more

DirecTV employees, do you feel relieved?

Are you happy to be away from this mess? I'm not sure how things will play out for you, but I know that it will not be worse than under Stankey. I really hope each and every one of you realize just how lucky you are. Before somebody tells me to... — read more

No Benefit to Working in Office

I’ve seen no benefit to working in office in office vs WFH. We have proven to be as or more productive due to avoidance of commuting, a bit more sleep, opportunity to take meaning exercise breaks and actually working more hours productively. If AT&T... — read more

AT&T Management Severance Package 2021

Yesterday, August 3rd, 2021 Anne Chow and team announced that there are currently no plans for a Layoff Package in 2021. It will be so interesting to see if that remains or is added to the corporate playbook.

Be honest

Would you really be willing to quit if you have to return to the office? I know many are currently talking a big game, but when push comes to shove, I think the majority if not all will follow the rules and start coming in without too much fuss. If... — read more

I love the title of this article, it says it all. I think everybody working here is looking for a way to break free of this place. Six years after AT&T swallowed DirecTV with ambitious plans to modernize the satellite TV business, the telephone... — read more

What's your reason?
