Topics regarding layoffs at AT&T

Randall, I’m tired of worrying

Ever since about 2015 it’s been about employees worrying if they’re still going to have a job then being cut while leadership says “we’re in this together”. The AFO (AT&T Field Operations) town hall was today where they called us a “team”. It’s... — read more

You know it's rough when

You know it's rough at T when you don't hear much about fraud and scams that employees are doing to keep their jobs. Is it my imagination?

Why not at least try to get another job

Everything points towards mass layoffs, but it looks like we will still have some window of time before they start on that big a scale. Why not try to beat them to the punch, update our CV and at least try to apply at other companies? If nothing we... — read more

HEAR ME and bye bye jobs

Ops Mgrs back to the garage

I heard that Ops Managers are now required to work from the garage and not from home. Home dispatch for the technicians will also end and they will have to report from the garage just like wireline . Not sure if this is true

Have to wonder how many strikes some of these Execs get

Don’t hate the players (Execs)... in T’s case, it does not help that a strategy in video and entertainment has been pursued by Execs which is largely unsuccessful. Paying 80 bil for an asset (DTV) that is now valued at 40 bil does not help. Ignoring... — read more

The network...

Is At&t actually going to be able to afford the capital expenditure investments in the network to actually deliver the content that they now own? I mean, where the hell is the investment in the physical network to deliver it?

Seems to me that a CEO golden parachute exit would be contengent on a successful tenure, and not one leading the company to FAILURE. I'd say a clawback of benefit is in order in Randall's case

Is there any news on reorganization outside of ATO and within retail? There does not seem to be any talk of retail closing, door changing to authorized retail, or corporate restructuring for retail channels.
