This company are like The Sopranos

They come asking for money to give support. They threaten to withdraw support for existing devices if they are no the chosen SoC vendor. I work for a large broadcaster - these shysters are attempting to extort us for circa $10 million.

GTO email…

Another classic…I $hit my pants reading it….lmfao….

What will this company look like in the future?

What a relief after I gave notice. I really can't even imagine what all this will look like even in the near future, given all the people who are leaving. Soon this will look nothing like that former company.

I hate the office

In fact, what frustrates me the most is that everything I do in the office, I can do much faster and much better at home, where I do not have so many distractions. Does the leadership really think that any of the young talents will want to come... — read more

Big raises coming!

Projects turning into nightmare

Even this last interesting project I was working on turned into a nightmare because the deadlines were so short that I just couldn’t enjoy the work at all. And so it is almost every time. Does every interesting project have to turn into a ton of... — read more

Bigly BSG News!

Hock is planning to announce that Mike Gregoire will return as President of BSG. After months of negotiations, Mike has agreed to return in exchange for a lifetime supply of padded spandex shorts.

Today's surprise

So, what brought about today's surprising news? I'm sure it wasn't done out of the goodness of management's heart. Too many people abandoning ship? Or just a carrot that can easily be revoked by fudging the numbers come December.

Outdated technology

It's interesting how much is being said here about technology, innovation, and the real truth is that Broadcom doesn't really care about new technology or innovation at all. Everything we have is obsolete. An engineer can only waste his time here... — read more

Name change for BSG..?

i heard there's discussion of a new name for BSG, to better represent the core values that we deliver to our clients. Apparently based upon a lot of deep, intimate conversations with our customers at all levels and angles. the proposed name is... — read more

Skills eroding here?

Unfortunately, I didn’t start thinking about this problem on time. I needed a job and I didn’t think much about whether my skills would erode here or not. It is only now that I am looking for a new job that I become aware of it and regret that I... — read more

What are they afraid of?

Isn't it weird that the company would rather spend money on rapid tests than let us continue to work remotely? It makes no sense to me at all, especially when I know that most people, like me, are much more productive when working from home. What's... — read more

What is their vision for the future of this company?

Because, as far as I can see, they have no vision. They might have a vision just for themselves, while for the rest of us, it is safe to say that their only plan is more cuts. It is a bit frustrating to constantly think about cuts, so their plans... — read more

Management is ridiculous

Management at Broadcom is superficial, arrogant, and delusional. Every single one of them displays open favoritism and if you're not in their good graces, you can kiss your career advancement goodbye. Basically, if you're not an expert a-s kisser... — read more

Dismal bonus for NIS/SED

NIS/SED division bonus this year was pathetic, less than 1/2 of what their division minimum was supposed to be according to APB docs. They trying to make people quit here in January so they have to lay less people off?

If you're being acquired, run like he-l

Run like the devil is after you. I was part of the first acquisition and it was brutal. And by now, literally everyone in my country has been laid off, including the people that thought they would stay to grab some of the RSU's. They will offer... — read more

New 10b buyback and dividend increase

No money and no interest in RD, constant layoff. I think hocker is prepared to wrapping up last piece cake from his 4 ys contract and dumping whole company.

We only hear about the large cuts

While everyone expects big cuts, it seems that small cuts are constantly happening here that are not talked about and that do not reach the media?

Booster required now!?

Checked email this morning and they sent a comm over the weekend that they’re requiring the booster… See ya after that sweet bonus!

No more than two years

The longer you stay the more you fall behind. I was a longer term employee so I was really far behind. When I left for another company my comp increased 2.5x. That's not a good thing because it shows you how much money I've lost by not changing jobs... — read more

Things must be dire when it comes to job market

A friend found a job with better pay (a 15 percent increase) and when he gave his notice they drilled him on why he was leaving and offered to match the new pay. I've never heard of that happening before. He didn't accept, of course, but he was happy... — read more

Pretending to be busy?

Sometimes it’s funny how some pretend to be much busier than they really are, but that seems to be the most effective strategy if you don’t want to be overwhelmed with a huge amount of work in this company. That’s a lesson I learned too late here. — read more
