It was 660 people yesterday. 2 weeks ago it was voluntary and they. Only got 200. Had we known 2,000 people were being laid off we could have made a more informed decision about the voluntary separation
More Layoffs Today
600 people being notified today. 2.5% of the Lumen workforce.
Another layoff!
660 Lumen employees in the US and Canada have been laid off I remember when Kate first laid off the 1200 stating that would be it, guess they didn’t reach their EOI goal
Lumen Stock Price
Does KJ and team know what they are doing? Stock price fell from $1.75 to $1.32 in the 30 day chart! The talk of a 15x RSS seems really weird. If they reduce outstanding shares down to 15x the current price that would take share price way too high... — read more
Final exit
I was one of those techs who wanted OUT, and was rejected, I quit, because my health was failing - with no severance package. I appealed to Kate & Kye in an email to reconsider a severance package - silence. Loved my 35+yr career in the industry... — read more
Multi State 911 outage do to light pole?
Did you hear about the multi State 911 outage? The article states the outage was from a single light pole? Sounds off to me. https://www.nbcnews.com/tech/tech-news/multistate-911-outage-shows-fragility-systems-experts-say-rcna148475
EOI
There are a lot of seasoned employees would like off this sinking ship. But Kate and crew won’t do it. Even though they can replace them with cheaper help. But she would listen to directors who have no clue and MRO who are just trying to save there... — read more

it will be interesting to see how senior management spins the results.
No support for legacy technology
If you need support for any legacy technology be it a TDM switch or some other equipment good luck. There is no more support for central office techs. The company has lost all its human resources who knew this equipment. Call into the NOC now and all... — read more
Target 3000?
Word on the street is 2,000 took the package, 3,000 was the target number, so the question is, when does the other shoe drop?
Passed On EOI... Now Wanting RIF'd ?
How about you? Might even be a better deal than leaving voluntary. If RIF'd you have a shot at unemployment as the sweetener.
EOI are you approved or denied?
From what I've heard this whole EOI is a sh-t show, people just get a middle finger insead of retirement severance package.
chances of getting a raise this or next quarter?
what do you all think about that with how the company is currently looking like? haven't gotten or inquired about a raise in the 2.5 years I have been here
Any thoughts on the Reverse Stock Split?
This morning Kate announced a range of between 1 for 15 and 1 for 25 reverse stock split. Any thoughts? Reverse splits never work. If Microsoft was close to buying this company, they wouldnt need to RS. I think all hope is lost. Bankruptcy may be... — read more
Bankruptcy seems unlikely
Didn't Lumen just complete a full restructuring of their debt with creditors? How could Lumen be in distress if they just punted that debt ball out about five years? Bankruptcy seems unlikely. They'll just sell off stuff and then look for a buyer for... — read more
Dare to Lead Certification
My linked in is being flooded with all these new certifications from the “Dare to lead” trainings. Crazy how people think that is a great certification to show off while Lumen is currently firing left and right. Why spend so much money with Brene... — read more

April 8-th Cut Day
Those who opted in to take the voluntary offer will be notified on April 8th that April 12-th is their last day. On the same 8-th day the RIF list will be communicated to those being terminated. Maybe employees should call in sick on April 8-th.
Microsoft buy us already
who else is riding the wave until microsoft buys us out? any idea when it might happen?
Fading star
Kate needs to look at her front line managers. There is no North Star out there, only managers ( senior VP down to MROS) who do not care about customers, you know the ones who pay the bills. They do not care at all, yet they push you can. Such a... — read more
Employee engagement survey
Sounds like fun. I will not be holding back.
Lost for words
Northstar is pointed toward someone’s bank account and not at customers. They no longer care about them. Yet they expect front line techs to sale via you can. Lumen is blind and they think that quantum fiber and government contracts will pay the way... — read more
Nothing makes me happier than…

I tell my customers to go elsewhere
I tell my customers to go to our competition because CenturyLink is committed to providing customers with poor service. CenturyLink hates its customers. The only thing management hates more than its customers is its employees.
Account Director Cuts
I’ve heard whispers about seasoned account directors being let go last Friday.
Another Exec
Another exec bites the dust “spend more time at home” Bye Adeel Omer. You’ll be missed. Guess he saw the writing on the wall as well.
LAY OFFS
Does anyone know when exactly these are coming?
Forbes magazine Lumen Technologies’ CEO On Their People-First Reset

FCC should read
FCC should look into lumen, I bet they would be surprised to see all the things they are surprising. We have not seen tickets in a while, but we get a lot of customers reporting no service. If this is happening here in AZ hate to see the rest

is something coming down Tuesday, 3/26/2024
I think Lumen is going to have big news to announce Tuesday. Maybe Project Yellowstone has been done?
Quantum Fiber
The layoffs whether forced or voluntary are continuous. Practically everyone under the Lumen umbrella got EOI letters on Monday. Last day of work April 12. They care only about money. Not the employees, not the customers. It is horrifyingly sad
No raises
