Of all the company lay offs chevron lay off posts are the most. Why is it so? Are chevron lay offs lot more than other oil companies?

To those who have left already, Is the vacation check separate from the severance check? Do you get them at the same time, or does the vacation check come separate? Trying to plan what and how much deductions to take from each. Thanks
