Topics regarding layoffs at ConocoPhillips

WFH-Friday

It was clearly a laughable question. I do appreciate the reference to fairness for those who can’t work from home. While we are on the topic of fairness - why is it fair for someone to make well over (using a low multiplier here) 100 times the... — read more

Thoughts on new VCIP structure?

VCIP goes back to per BU basis. Company cuts budgets on all other BUs and keeps dumping money to Alaska. Then Alaska gets top tier VCIP next year while everyone else gets a pathetic VCIP rating due to cost cutting. Sounds fair to me :)

Layoffs announced at VCIP Town Hall?

Do we think RL will announce the timeline for layoffs at the VCIP town hall? I know that some of the ELT is doing "Company Strategy Updates" early next week after the town hall, so I'm assuming they will go into greater detail about the layoffs... — read more

How about that GEP USA

Wow! How much did we spend on this nextgen effort? Anyone able to make heads or tails of the New system and get anything done they did before? That EDW data modernization sure is providing some high quality data isn’t it RL? SPIRIT Awards all around... — read more

Movement

So is there a hiring or promotion freeze? Are people moving teams. Can’t pinpoint it and supervisors aren’t being straightforward.

Tariffs & VCIP

Does anyone think that the tariffs will have any impact to our VCIP?

No Flexibility For Appointments

I found out last week that my manager gave 2 coworkers verbal permission to wfh whenever they need to. Fantastic for them except I got told today to log a half day worth of PTO because I had a dentist appointmwnt this morning and arrived 1 hour later... — read more

Cost savings

Can we fire the CEO and hire an Indian replacement working remotely?

Tariffs

If the tariffs are placed on Canadian oil & gas, what impact will that have on the Canadian business unit?

VCIP

Any guesses on what VCIP will be?

Why no WFH Fridays?

I’m 1 of 19 people on my floor today (normally about 50-60). RL & ELT’s corporate overlord greed really showed by not giving us Fridays WFH. “People” my a$$! But hey, collaboration and innovation!

This place is a total nightmare

The stress is nonstop, and dealing with all the ridiculous decisions from management is driving me crazy. It's like they’re on a mission to burn everything down just to see how bad it can get. Things aren’t getting better, they’re only spiraling. I’m... — read more

nxtgen or lastgen

What has been your experience with the nxtgen RUSA? I have found it to be poorly executed on the front end for users. Trainings were more theoretical and didn't give level of detail that is needed to accomplish day-to-day tasks. Now in this live... — read more

What was the integration team doing

Now that we are on the other side of close it's super obvious the IMO was doing nothing to actually plan for integration. People, budget, operations, you name it and there is no guidance or idea. It's great to see all these high potential managers... — read more

When will it be?

Any guesses or good rumors in regards to when they will start the headcount reduction?

Merit increase and 2025 VCIP

Obviously the company is trying to get people to quit on their own to save money on severance packages. This is evident by canceling HOW, changing vacation to PTO, and getting firm on people being in-office for 9 hours a day. Do y’all think the... — read more

No layoffs needed

People are more than happy to walk away on their own these days. We’ve lost three team members in just three months, and with no replacements coming, it’s no surprise the extra workload might drive even more of us to quit. I don't see how this is a... — read more

Q4 Town Hall?

Did I miss something or is there not a town hall with Ryan Lance for Q4? There is a LOT going on right now, I get that, but this is so demotivating and makes me feel like upper management really doesn’t care about their workforce.

COP purchased Marathon HQ building

I just saw that we decided to purchase the Marathon newly built HQ building. This was not part of the plan originally, but was a last minute decision. Anyone have any ideas why we did that? What are our plans for that building? Downsize Houston... — read more

HOW Decision

I have heard two different tracts of 'fact' that are diametrically opposite - one that the decision to bring everyone back in the office was singlehandedly made by RL. The other was that the ELT all agrees that this is best for the company... — read more

Never taking my laptop home ever again. Ever.

If the ELT wants more productivity, they can hire more people. They’ll never learn anything if they don’t have to deal with the consequences of their own actions.
