P in SPIRIT

Curious to see if ELT will be rebranding SPIRIT values since People no longer matter. Any suggestions for a new “P” value?

What’s the latest on upcoming layoffs?

I’m among the RTO mandated. Layoffs can’t come soon enough, as far as I’m concerned. I’m unwilling to leave for free, and RTO is an arrangement I can’t wait to get out of.

Layoff Outlook

Any predictions on how upcoming layoffs will look (assuming what Ryan hinted at is true)? Just trying to plan my next steps accordingly and hopefully make a timeframe.

Cost cutting

What are some easy opportunities for cost cutting? I'm sure this will get derailed....but curious to see sincere / realistic ideas.

This will reduce productivity

I've never been more productive than when working from home. Replying to emails outside of working hours, working on projects in the evenings or even over the weekend, working through my lunch... All of that stops once I'm forced back into the... — read more

Goal Season is Here

Goal season is here. And once again I am considering the ridiculousness of the time we spend in managing and administering goals. In my experience, it isn't my goals that have driven me to a differential performance, it has only been the project that... — read more

Is the grass greener on the other side?

There are a lot of complaints about COP on this forum, but the same sentiment seems to be shared across the other major companies. Based on a compilation of advice, it is best to quit the industry.

Layoff or Safe

COP employees seem pretty “relaxed” about the acquisition and aren’t concern about layoffs happening. I know MRO will take the brunt of the reduction but will COP also get hit as well? If so, will it likely be at the end of this year or beginning of... — read more

Engineering Manager Compensation

What does compensation for an engineering manager look like? I’m at ExxonMobil currently making just over $325k a year so curious if it is worth applying to a job posting I see on your website.

MRO COP

Wonder why COP is buying MRI? Look at well count, bbl count and head count. Get ready to work lean COP.

Micromanagers need to go!

The new micromanagers who came from Concho and Shell need to go! They are seriously the worst human beings in the company.

EOI Packages

Has there been any talk of severance packages? Its my understanding that the Concho packages were actually pretty good when the companies joined. True or just rumors?

Alaska

A lot was said about Eagleford and Bakken so i suspect that's where we may see some realignment. How about Alaska? Serious answers only please. Like alot of others on this site, I have a family to feed and am worried.

Any word on when layoffs might start?

I’m assuming it will be after the deal closes, like with Concho. But is anyone hearing anything different? How bad will it be this time?
