No layoffs needed!!

The fact that people continuously speculate about impending layoffs is bad enough, like they say, it's not the actual layoffs that hurt , it's the anticipation. So, essentially, whether you are laid off or not get out of the position from which you... — read more

So……cuts next week?

How is the first week of May looking for layoffs? Bottom performers? I haven’t heard much but I am expecting there to be some reductions. I don’t think they would do them after converge.

Layoffs

Didn’t kurian say they would do more layoffs to get to 8 percent by the end of the current fiscal year? Or were those layoffs already done?

I’ll retool you 😁

Layoffs were planned A LONG TIME ago

Talked to a SVP. Layoffs were planned summer of 2020 but then the US Government promised relief for companies like NA to give them free loans to pay company salaries. NA received missions in funds and gave 22 million in relief in exchange for tax... — read more

Does anyone have faith in our VPs and SVPs? After having met Harv and knowing Octavian and George I really don’t believe they know what they are doing. It seems like they have no clear direction and honestly I don’t even get the impression they know... — read more

Ex colleagues post layoffs

When they came to know about my axing, they wanted my phone number ASAP from me, but alas, they never called me to checkin on me. I know they don't have to, but why ask for the phone number when there was never an intention to call. GK won't be... — read more

Were there cuts yesterday?

Don't work for NetApp but I woke up to a couple emails from people I know putting out feelers. They said they just got notified yesterday. All marketing people I work with.

Next round shortly before earnings release

The next round will happen about a week before earnings release. This will be to stabilize the price. George has promised investors the stock will not go under $60.

Is this the most active forum on thelayoffs.com?

I have checked a bunch of forums where I thought the activity is gonna be lit, but to my surprise, this forum beats all of them by a vast majority. Man, say what you will, there is a reason why

May is the Next Round

Leaders have been asked to stack rank people again and expecting a May round of cuts. Leaders are now taking all the visible sessions away from subordinates while setting up a scape goat on every team to blame for their failures so they have someone... — read more

Help next layoffs coming soon 4sure

I know they are coming, I've interviewed for 10 positions and everyone one wanted to hire me but said they just implemented a hiring freeze.

Are the next round of layoffs coming soon?

Frankly, I'm extremely unhappy with my job right now and am actively applying to new jobs. I would rather get laid off with severance than quit or be fired. Also, does NetApp put underperforming employees on PIP or just immediately let them go?

The management is resistant to change

It is a sad but accurate reality that the company is heavily staffed with long-term employees who are resistant to change. This mindset is ingrained throughout the organization, with a mutual agreement to protect each other from potential layoffs... — read more

WWYD (what would YOU do?)

Putting aside the negativity and history, if YOU were given the keys to netapp and 12 months to improve things, what exactly is the magic plan? It seems to me no matter what the leadership says or does, there is aloud push back, often vitriolic... — read more

I worked at NetApp for 5 years

I've worked at 6 different companies from large to small. I've seen great leadership and horrible leadership. There are only two questions you need to ask yourself before leaving or joining: Do I like the people and culture? Will this company... — read more

Most of you would probably disagree, but did anyone feel the cringe when talking to some of the workers? Specifically, the managers? I remember one of the managers criticized how I act at work because they thought I was "too afraid", but it was... — read more
