As evidenced by this recent comment on thelayoff and the number of thumbs up it got. These employees should be immediately terminated. "What's that again? 13% of the population but half of all violent crime? Talk about entitlement. But wait, I guess... — read more
President Cesar is getting ready for "March Madness" selfies.
I'm sure he will be there taking selfies and eating tapas. Go Microsoft!!
Stock price forced George's hand
Does anyone else agree that the ICs shouldnt bare all the blame for this? At a certain point you have to question the CEO and the VP suite for not understanding the direction of the business. To me it seems that the VP level should all fill out 5... — read more
Every 1 point drop in the stock price
Means 100 layoffs. Is there any reason left to work for this company other than drinking the cool aid and being too lazy to look elsewhere .
No mass layoffs in the near future?
Mass layoffs are over for NetApp. Now that the C-suite have realized the cost saving benefits of tracking, then we-ponizing employee RTO metrics they'll favor GAPs/PIPs-based evaluations directly linked to RTO. I can't say they'll never go back to... — read more

Will Ops be impacted in the next layoff? Appears some consolation could be done there.

George I know you see this
You need to clean house with the VPs. They are NOT HELPING THE COMPANY GROW. THEY NEED THE BOOT.
10B in revenue-NOT! Since 2012 NTAP has been flat around the $6B number
I seriously think the board should seek a new CEO if they are looking to grow to $10B. George has been at NTAP 10 years and the revenue has been in the $5-$6B range. There will likely be layoffs but the problem isn't at the bottom-it's at the... — read more
Folks this layoff will be bad
save up and be prepared for a "no severance" possibility, end of q4/start of q1 and prepare your resume
Stand alone storage companies are done
Both PURE and NetApp are being punished by the market which has figured out that flash is not cloud. Even NVidia is not exempt. Since George no longer supports severance ...... resumes should be flying out of NetApp while there are still jobs to be... — read more

Is anyone concerned that Trump's tariff threats, extensive federal layoffs and spending cuts are going to lead to decreased IT spending? Not just the federal government, but across all sectors. How will this impact NetApp?
Underperformers
Q1.
no money for backfills, but plenty for executive travel
SAM execs meeting in London flying business class, Support execs meeting in RTP flying business class, backfills for desperately needed to support our customers, denied. (cost of these meetings could easily fund several support engineers)
President Cesar travels all over the world for selfies
Cesar sure likes to travel and take a lot of selfies. Nice post of him on LinkedIn celebrating LNY in Asia - S Korea, Japan, Taiwan, etc. Lots of travel for a company stuck at 6B for the last decade. Interesting priorities Cesar, go Microsoft!!

Are we going to get layoffs in RTP? If so who do you think is getting cut?
Terrible management
Harv promotes his friends that have achieved nothing in their time here. Meanwhile, the rest of you worry about looming layoffs. Go NetApp! KickAss!

Goodbye, Spot.
I think spot deserved to stay within our portfolio. What’s next?

How long will shareholders tolerate us not growing ? It’s been a decade. We are doing good but we need to do GREAT. CEO?
Is Pure doing better than NetApp?
Lately it appears Pure has taken the lead over NetApp. Sorry but the CEO with the funny hat is beating What Would George Do at his own game. Agree or disagree?
NetApp might sell Spot?
Apparently there has been talks but no decisions yet. Anyone know with who?

RTO and "Performance Management" Instead of Layoffs

Bootlickers were not spared this time
The left over boot lickers were not spared this time. It was a joy to see them be put in their place. If they got sacked it was because the provide no value to the company.
