Just wonder if anyone has any creative ideas to get around RTO or is Management helping by bending the rules?

@19x this is the best way to do it. Eight hours in the office is for masochists
@19d RTO is fine. I only go in 2-3 hours a day and my boss is cool with it.
@q8 Attempting to make the cost higher? What, it's a given that you can b(_)m time off of the rest of us and go and pick up your kids while we pick up the slack? You think you have the right to steal time you're being paid and work less than your hours than the rest of us?
Your attitude makes me so glad you s(_)ckers have to go back to the office. I'm gonna love seeing you salty thieves back with the office in the background on your calls.

@q8 You are gonna need to back up this ridiculous claim with some facts as to how people that may choose to not have kids, whose kids have grown, or those who have stated here that employees should not let their kids or kid activities impact others drive up the cost of “having kids.” There is data supporting that young people aren’t having kids because they were raised with no expectations of responsibility. They are raised getting everything they want, regardless of cost, with no expectation to earn anything. This is why many young people fail in the real world (or don’t even try) because parents set zero expectations on them. I watch our amazing young people just throw down their trash when finished with a drink or meal - with a ‘someone else will clean it up’ attitude. They drive moms Tesla, drink Starbucks every day before school, and get their nails done. Then, these kids are shocked when the real world smacks them in the face.
I'm dreading Thursday morning when school starts in my town. Anyone else hate the stupid Moms outside holding up the bus while little John and Jane get out the door, out of there arms and on the fricken bus. OMFG no wonder everyone gets to work late.
No wonder there is a declining birth rate. Society's hedonistic populous is stigmatizing parents and attempting to make the cost even higher to have kids. So much for it takes a village!

Sounds like some people here are salty that no one loves them enough to have children with them.
The number of downvotes on these comments just shows the number of salty employees that realize they've been caught out taking advantage of their teams and colleagues and the company.
My favorite is when a birthday is coming up and they're out arranging pony rentals, presents and table decorations at 2pm and actually say it like it's legitimate for them to not be working while the rest of us are.
Has anyone else had the "I may have to be at work if you get a tummy ache at school"? I knew my children would be heart broken, I'll not be able to run over and rub their tummy.
How am I supposed to doing any work onsite? I'll be think about this all day long.

I have a coworker who comes in at 10AM then goes home at 2 PM to be home for his kids during school year. Summer isn’t that much better. His wife also works for Medtronic but not sure why they couldn’t split the duty. I just don’t think this arrangement is all that great. If you were running a company I don’t see how this type of work arrangement would be fair for other employees.
@ea WOW! Look at all these hyper-sensitive mama and papa bears! Don’t dare say a discouraging word that may sound like they are cheating the employer so they can drive Jane or Johnny to school with store bought cupcakes and diorama that mom worked on while pretending to participate in conference calls.
@e1 how would you have any knowledge that the drivers on the road next to you are rushing because they are a parent who poorly planned their morning? Nice imagination.
Just throwing this out there, but I will miss the quiet morning commute minus teachers, school buses and crazy mothers and fathers rushing to work because of poor planning

OMG ... another excuse not to RTO. You only need 4 hrs in the office. Figure it out. Simple Logic.
Leave fir work after your kid gets on the bus and come home in time to get them off the bus. The Lord is on your side.

RTO is so much easier when the kids are in school. Summer is when it is hard with juggling camp and weird schedules. Go back to the office and su-k it up like the rest of us
You can quit work and devote your life to your kids. Come back to work when you are truly ready to work.
