Like seriously, acting like we have a culture at all that cares about healthcare when we have people's data in a snag of wires outside of an offshore building in India and forcing people with decades of experience to report to folks in India might be part of what is tanking the culture. Why not talk about that? You guys mention being genuine.

Huge correction underway. Markets are heavily manipulated, just look at the oil crack spread and Japan bailout as US cannot have them dumping treasury’s. US desperate to keep the illusion going ….
@1j6 Optum doesnt care how far the dollar goes in India. They are paying less US dollars to have someone sitting in a seat doing a job. Multiply that by 70% of your workforce, thats a huge savings.
@1hz no, wrong again. $15k is entry level…experienced India tech workers make at least double that. Tech workers in India make upper middle class wages. They do NOT have the same government structures nor healthcare monopoly that the US has - stop using US economic structures to compare to India.
If you want to believe Americans have it so good because it makes you feel better, that’s on you. I suggest you start to travel out of the country more.
Look it up…India tech workers in India are paid extremely well in their own country.

@1e1 no, not true. The myth that offshore make less is completely false. They are paid much better than the US worker. One US dollar in India buys a multiple of 5x times more in India. So a salary of $15k in USD in India is the same as $75k in the US…do the math! STOP believing offshore is paid way less … they are NOT! Those countries peg their currencies to the USD….its called a stealth tax!

@e6 It's not that people necessarily want culture, it's that we don't want to be gaslit with corporate propaganda about culture when we know there is no culture! And FWIW, plenty of thriving, highly profitable companies have a strong culture that includes valuing their employees and offering opportunities for growth.
Come on people, this is a publicly traded company that must by law maximize profits. To do otherwise is actually illegal and grounds for shareholder lawsuits.
Bottom line - and it is brutal because it’s true - if you want culture go to a museum or opera. You will NOT get it here.

As long as India continues to be a useful pawn for the US military complex this will continue. IF all US the bases close in West Asia/surrounding area, per Irans demands, then India will have to let US build up bases on their soil or kiss the tech outsourcing goodbye. Those American corps/data centers will be sitting ducks.

We have a "culture" that cares about one thing: shareholders. This company couldn't give a flying you-know-what about members, providers, employees, or anything else. "Culture Week" is actually insulting. UHG is a disgrace.
