Thread regarding Refinitiv layoffs

What’s going on with LSEG?!?!

I saw the announcement that their AI tool deep research was released. It seems barely useable, and Bloomberg’s tools are miles better. They’ve been supposedly building this for years.

Are people at LSEG even doing any work or is this all a giant fraud?

Don't need an entire essay to explain whats wrong with LSEG, it’s 3 businesses constantly bleeding growth - Workflows, Workspace and the Microsoft partnership.

I recon, change the leadership, and the stock will instantly pop.

LSEG has typically managed to stay afloat through earnings announcements that artificially boosted their share price. The market has finally caught up with reality.

This is what happens when you encourage your best talent to leave or lay them off - they have drastically strengthened their competitors.

Rather than changing course and focusing on delivering real value, the company has doubled down on making increasingly artificial AI promises, a laughable partnership-marketing strategy and producing more expensive videos. As others have pointed out, LSEG fails to showcase any meaningful product differentiation or a compelling vision for the future.

To echo another post, partners and investors should be considering their exit strategy ASAP.

Delivery of AI enabled products gets converted into bonus dollars. That's what we want, right? If you're not shoulders behind the delivering, what are u doing?

LSEG’s recent AI announcements are the laughing stock of the fintech industry’s. The stock has dropped 6% since then.

Maybe more LinkedIn posts about it will make it better?

What the he-l is wrong with you??

Presumably you were recently managed out. Please don't tell us you're still on the payroll?

There are many recent examples of LSEG doing great work which aren't just press releases.

Investors should take a closer look at how LSEG is being run internally. They have a culture that prioritises optics over execution, which is increasingly reflected in their share price performance.

Delivery and execution are looked down upon at LSEG, yet it's ownership that drives measurable outcomes. Instead, the organisation seems heavily focused on expensive videos (driven by ego, with no substance), wasteful events such as the Insight Series, and partner summits that generate no ROI or showcase any competitive product differentiation.

This is what happens when you layoff huge expertise, and promote people whose only skills are building PowerPoints to manage upwards. The best employees continue to leave every day - partners and investors should also look for an exit strategy ASAP.

The only thing LSEG ships is buybacks and marketing videos.
