Thread regarding MetLife Inc. layoffs

What're coming in September?

On LTL they said something about a big AI announcement coming in September. Anyone know what it could be?

@6xa I'm skeptical that CoPilot is going away. What would be next - dumping Windows for Linux? Pretty much impossible at MetLife as we are essentially captive customers for Microsoft.

More likely we worked a deal to get a slightly better than the basic version of CoPilot.

On the printers - I'd assume that not only do will they now know WHO you are when you make a copy, but they could, if they want, know exactly WHAT you copied. That's great. That's great.

@6tt exactly! My location is getting new printers next week and we will need to swipe our ID badge to use it for anything now, including simply making copies! Such a great place to work! 😒

@6qj Not only will it be outdated AI, but the purpose will be more to spy on employees to see what they are doing rather than to help them do their jobs.

@6pp It's outdated, discontinued AI technology that will be made available to all, making it appear that we are getting something good. Look up the DELL model from your most recent laptop refresh, and that tells you all you need to know about how this place operates.

@6pp probably more stock buybacks and the freeing of funds to perform that.

One week until September.

If something is going to happen, they couldn't keep it under wraps this close.

Rumors?

@126 I'm skeptical. Even if the tide turned on Pappy and his bs awards, the same guy who hired him would hire the next one..

Also, the stock is doing well so things will keep going as they are.

Now, if the stock takes a dive, anything could happen.

@vq can't wait 👏🏻 I guess no more confidence in Pappy, even with all of his fake awards. The 🌊may finally be turning.

Heard some high ups in GT are making their exits in the past week. Whatever is coming they're looking to avoid.

@OP They made a deal with a vendor and will try to convince everyone that the vendor offering is "MetLife proprietary".
