The people who actually know how things work are either retiring without documenting anything or getting laid off. And leadership thinks it's fine because they have their VPs. The same VPs who don't know the details and don't want input from anyone below them. It's scary to watch the company make such a huge mistake and not care.

@7j5 take the packaging area - the same folks leading for decade or more. It goes no where. They have this weird archetype in mind of how leadership should be from other places but they get it grossly wrong when they try to imitate it. Sort of like the telephone game.
GF execs don't care about employee knowledge. They are happy just to be average and do it for low cost. This is what happens when you let a bean counter from Mackenzie come in and run the show. GF's end is near, either they sell off to NXP or other buyers or they slowly lose market share and continue to shrink until they close the doors or sell everything off.
@a2
Those of us that have been here long enough remember when we used to half-joke about repainting the corridors in Samsung blue. It's been this way since time immemorial.
The company was done when they hired someone with zero tech background from McKinney. Expect a sale soon or merger with NXP.
