It’s simple math. You let go of employees with high salaries and hire new people at half the cost. Plenty of AI tools for newbies to do just about any job.
@OP Even in a contract. Vz always has the needs of the business clause. It won’t override no layoff clause and what Vz needs to do before they can layoff post 2003 hires

People being hired costs $ (especially if offshore)
