Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

Is BA as good as everyone else says it is?

Other SBGs hear that BA is the promised land. How are things there, really? What is the leadership like and what is it like to work there?

Well it was taking good shape under BH leadership but with recent changes it is going to go downhill and fast.

Many award winning fake NPIs! BH praises building automation next big idea awards which no one can show success to this date… not sure if BH understands the business if he could be easily fooled with bs.

@yh what policy violations do you have in mind?

Top level ISC leadership came from aero and spent years stacking the deck with their corrupt buddies. HR has piles of complaints and hard evidence of policy violations and does nothing. The other functions are not nearly as toxic but still prone to the typical reorg every 2 years and a constant false sense of urgency. There are many decent people in middle management, you just have to find the right one to work for.

No - BA is a carousel of repositioning and fake NPIs. Layoff 10% of your staff every year and figure out how to grow double digits. Grow high single digits so leaders can claim victory and everyone gets a cr-p bonus because you missed AOP. Yeah, its great.

Constant reorganization, frequent fire drills that go nowhere, wasted effort and thousands of dollars spent on projects that do nothing. Same old, same old thinking. Risk averse while telling everyone to think boldly. Glossing up numbers to make things appear better than they are to avoid the ire of executives. Sure, great place.

By all accounts it might well be the only surviving business unit at RemainCo in a couple of years. The leadership and culture will be it be the biggest challenge.

I left BA after a long career there. I found senior leadership in sales were living month to month, doing crazy deals to bring orders in early, leaving money on the table. It was very hard to have any kind of strategy that would deliver success in 6 months. Lots of great people in BA but the organization doesn’t really allow them to thrive.
