Bring Back Service Monetary Awards for Face The Consequences

Prove employees are the most valid asset OT has.
Or continue the peppering of bad press until the company finally goes under.

@qs The s_t_u_p_i_d, it burns.

Capitalism will take care of OTEX. The money and jobs will go elsewhere.

What consequences? Workers have little to no power under a capitalist system.

@jy "You don’t go from Leader to Laggard by gutting the people who made you a Leader."

That's exactly how you do that. English as a second language?

@jn Yeah, exactly. There’s ignorant of value and there’s actively hostile to it OTEX is the second one.

Most rollups at least fake reverence for the product. Retention bonuses, we’re investing in the platform, keep the Gartner spot intact. OTEX skipped all that. Institutional knowledge wasn’t neglected, it was treated as a cost center to axe.

Biggest tell: nobody’s trying to lure the good people back. That’s not just attrition that’s the market telling you the platform’s already worth zero to the people who’d know.

Hospice is right. You don’t go from Leader to Laggard by gutting the people who made you a Leader.

@ac Yes. If OTEX management was smart they would have preserved the decades accumulated knowledge because that is part of the value of products and teams.

Instead, they eliminate knowledge and experience and ignorantly destroy product value.

Having been part of products/companies absorbed multiple times, OTEX is the first owner that placed no value on product expertise. Previous owners even added retention bonuses to keep key people or lure people back, and the products retained leadership (Gartner upper right quadrant). After OTEX, they have dropped to laggards. Nobody will return, and remaining experts are looking for exits. The product is in hospice now, and it will never recover. Smart buyers will avoid. If retained by OTEX, the products will die.

I think the ELT regularly awards themselves all sorts of nice things for being awesome!

When you think about it, future success will come from having many dozens of tired and overpaid executives directing AI. Once they no longer have to spend all of their time reading scripts as they lay people off, counting door swipes etc, they will be even more efficient!

I asked the ELT, and they said it AI not employees. Let’s start selling meme coins and ditch document management.

@OP Yes, a $100 credit at the corporate loot store, and a plaque shows great respect and proves the company values service.

The proper way to "Prove employees are the most valid asset" is to stop treating them so poorly and treat the good ones as assets to retain rather than expenses to be replaced.
