Thread regarding Nike Inc. layoffs

No WFH and I can barely breathe outside

Some local companies are allowing wfh bc of the heat wave and air quality. Nikes employee care has fallen off a cliff.

"just man up" and inhale the equivalent of a pack of cigarettes per day for your employer as you run between campus buildings, OP. everyone does it, so that means it should be acceptable

in all seriousness, just tell your boss you're working from home due to the exceptional health risks. it's unfortunate that this isn't a mandate, but, there are at least ways around it.

if your boss is being a real di-k or a stickler about it, file an ADA request. they might ask for an alternative but it will at least mean you can go car->office->car->home without being expected to jog around outside su-king in carcinogens between buildings

@OP Stop whining! The commercial HVAC systems are FAR better than your home at filtering out smoke. You just want to pretend to work from home.

If you have a legitimate respiratory ailment, just let your manager know and I'm sure they will cover for you. If not, HR will just to avoid getting sued. The air quality isn't anywhere near dangerous for most people.

You have to be kidding me! You sound pathetic. Do you have a hangnail that you need to stay home for? People like you are the exactly why we can’t WFH! Id--t!

Bruh just ask your manager if you can WFH. No one ever says no. Also no one cares if you WFH in practice.

Next it will be too hot, too cold, too rainy, the wind is blowing too hard. These are mild inconveniences and navigating them is part of adulting. This isn't elementary school where you are a kid worried about standing at the bus stop.
