Thread regarding Humana Inc. layoffs

Micro RIFs?

I am on a team of about 12 and we had 2 employees within a week fired. Makes me wonder if a new approach to RIF is setting unrealistic standards, allow team to fail and fire without offering severance to save on the bottom line. Trust absolutely eroded in this company.

I have been here almost 20 years and ever since Rechtin took over they treat agents like animals. Constant turnover. Unrealistic goals especially for tenured agents and if you miss a couple of months your out or on pip even if you have managed to hit their ridiculous goals for a year. Massive discrimination and DEI as well. Managers give their friends and favorites leads and set most of the tenured agents up to fail so they can give their clients to their favorites. This company will be sued and they will deserve it

Humana has gone down the drain since under Jim Rechtin. But he sure has padded his pockets amongst the employee RIFs, ERP, and firing. Almost 19 million in 2025 alone.

Obviously this isn’t a healthcare for the elderly or for the employees, it’s for the almighty dollar for the top!
I tell everyone don’t work there and don’t get insurance from them as it’s all deny, deny, deny! Worst place to work!

The complaint about corporations using American taxpayer monies to replace capable American citizen workers with foreign labor and putting American’s sensitive data at risk is not a philosophical nor a political issue. It is a reality issue! And it is simply common sense.

I wish our federal government as well as the national media outlets would take notice, broadcast, and do something about the fact that the CEO of Humana and all of the large for-profit health insurance corporations, and really all large corporations, are stomping on the American flag.

Military soldiers have literally been wounded and some died in wars so that corporations like this could take American tax payer dollars and replace American citizen workers with foreign labor, while at the same time denying legitimate health claims, and putting American citizens sensitive data in jeopardy, all to save money.

American citizens can and have been doing these jobs and do not deserve to be replaced with foreign labor. And American soldiers deserve better for the country they are fighting for.

Pass the word!

Absolutely team of 6 and I had a peer “riffed” and within a month a new req was posted and hired to promote someone else. They are using micro rifs to selectively get rid of people.

Absolutely seeing the same in my department and we have a very small team as well. I was a top performer for years and not get hounded about not meeting every month due to the unrealistic goals they have set in place now. I have made sure to document and save everything because I know they are out for me, I just have that feeling. Micromanaging is absolutely out of control here.

They call that “attrition” and it’s supposed to happen organically but it’s not uncommon for organizations to do things (micromanagement, etc.) to accelerate it.
