@OP I can’t stand Yael! Listening the bullsh-t spew from his mouth sickens me.
How in the world is Yael still employed?
- Let's spend tens millions on automated distribution centers all at once, it's our future! Oh, that didn't work, so let's take a humongous one time charge and sneak a bunch of other stuff in it so that we can say, "ecommerce is profitable" next quarter.
- We're merging development and product, so we can layoff anyone who is not on board. Well, that didn't work, let's separate development and product, so we can lay off anyone who is not on board.
- We're pure agile! But this is important, so let's do waterfall. But people don't like the word waterfall, so let's call it agile again.
@j8 to top it off we're buying $7.5 BILLION of our own stock. We have over $20 BILLION cash on hand from a failed merger. We do not NEED money, we do not need to price gouge our customers by using AI and ML to provide individual pricing, or offshore our employees.... yet here we are. Pure greed, acting like private equity but we aren't even there yet. Good high paying Cincinnati jobs lost. P&G going the same route. Cincy is no longer a mecca. Kroger is cooked. So much effort being spent on chasing ecom dollars so we can have an eBay platform instead of focusing on actual grocery stores.
I live in a highly competitive market. Food Lion, Publix, Lowe's, Aldi, Whole Foods, Walmart, Costco, BJ's, Trader Joes, Piggly Wiggly, World Market all on top of each other yet Kroger prices reflect those of Publix. I can go next door to food lion and buy the same exact produce for half the cost. No one wants to play with BOGO or ridiculous loopholes just to save a buck. Costco, Food Lion and Walmart are getting all my business, I would be spending easily 20% more otherwise. This did not used to be the case before covid
