So hearing pretty reliable sources at least in the New York/New Jersey area that the only EISP offered will be to inside people like clerks.Sounds like the company wants to not only train the new hires longer but Hire a few more before allowing field ops techs to leave .Its all about head count .Regardless of busy days or slow days they have to keep a certain headcount.I almost imagine it is required in case of a natural disaster or such but who knows they may just be waiting out the older groups

I left at 55 with 36 years when the interest rates were at zero. If you retire before 59.5 you can use the 72T rule. The IRS has a formula they use to calculate what you need to withdraw every year for 5 years or 59.5. whichever is longer.
@fz Do you know something?
@g0 I think he must be 53
@ac What do you mean you cant collect your 401k for 2 years? If you are 55 and retired from the company, you can take a withdrawl from your 401k without the 59 and a half 10% tax penatly. 55 rule. You still pay the standard tax bracket taxes on it unless you did your 401k after tax. Under 55, you are penalized the 10%. You can take 1 withdrawl per year. You cant collect monthly from a 401k. The 59 and a half rule for the 10 % penalty doesnt apply to a 401k withdrawl at 55 plus.
@OP You have no reliable sources whatsoever.
No eisp for you.
@a5 you must be a wireless sc-m
@as They made better music when they were still doing coke.
well for my area I guess its 8 hrs + ot on Standby/availability — remained available for trouble response when no work was assigned..they dont like it buy me .
@as actually Christy McVie wrote and was lead vocalist . You had the right band though!
@ac True Dat brother. 👍
@OP Makes sense
@av that's funny
If I retire they'll have to hire 3 man-bunned millennials to replace me.
@af That 20 year old left VZ to become a Youtube influencer, now has tens of followers. 🤣🤣
@Why do you younger expect older people to retire when convenient for you..I was told to retire at 43 by 20 yr old who missed more days than me. I am still working here.Don't know if 20 yr old made probation period.
I am one of those techs waiting for a package. You millennials think you know everything. I do have 30, but I can’t collect my 401k for another 2 years. I will have plenty of money when I can collect pension and 401k. The buyout will buy me those 2 years. I will be retiring in 2 years if no buyout is offered. I know others who have 30 years and are in their 60s who are waiting for Medicare, because the insurance premiums are too high. We are not looking for other jobs because the economy su-ks and this country is losing jobs every day. It’s the same reason you b!tch about your job, /but don’t leave.Verizon is not the only company downsizing. I’m sure if you look right now you can find another company laying off thousands of employees today. I won’t leave my job because some millennial is crying. I leave my job on my terms.
@OP But but but, I am a tech who could have retired years ago and am waiting for an offer ! Oh well , guess I will wait 4 more years and maybe get one then and miss out on my retirement years.
Sad for those that were hoping for a kicker that were planning to leave anyhow .But it’s nature of the business
They don't want people jumping ship to menace mobile. Dr evil is offering fully paid medical benefits and generous vacation time before throwing you into a tank full of sharks.
I heard the same thing and to me if they did offer an eisp to techs it would be a mistake judging by the lack of techs already.
