Thread regarding 3M layoffs

RTO in IT Except.....

There are "senior leaders" within IT, specifically within the IT S&S org that have been blessed with the ability to be FULL TIME REMOTE.
Why are these "specials" allowed to work from: Florida, Ohio, San Antonio, Houston.
How is it cost effective for all these leaders to spend 3M $ to meet in MN once a month for a week?
Can anyone shed some light on this? Big bright spot light...

If somebody is working in Austin full remote, wouldn’t that be against policy? If they are within 50 miles, they need to be in office 4d per week. You might consider submitting an ethics point. If you really have the details and if you really are vindictive or perceive this to be unfair.

How many director reports to HOTMESS do not work in either the maplewood or Austin office locations?
What makes them so special other than they pledge allegiance to the all mighty HOTMESS

@he I'm no longer with 3M but before I left I worked on the project that closed down all these small countries , if someone is working from Greece they are breaking all kinds of tax rules I can assure you !

@cy someone is totally working from Greece - not a 3M office - their lovely island home. So yeah, I do have facts straight but thanks. Also Austin meaning Austin but still remote and still not going to that office there. I love people coming in to defend these whackadoodle IT leaders, glad to see they at least have some fans out there!

HOTMESS and several of his minion followers are blessed to work at home far far far away from MN office and Austin TX office.

The inconsistent application of the RTO policy is a HOTMESS

Yes, people are still remote. They do not live within 50 miles of an office. They cannot get a different job, promotions, etc. So they are remote for now.

@cm Austin was the “almost” the second HQ for years. It still has emd and other support functions there. It’s not remote. If you are going to rant at least get your facts right.

@OP you are leaving a few locations out - Austin, New Jersey, Connecticut, and Greece. How does one shine such a light? I wonder what new CIDO will think of it.

Don't worry; soon all of 3M IT will be located in India.

Then, they can all meet in office over there.

Another person who is allowed to work full-time remote is the PAM dude in the security org. The guy gets a 5/5 for outputting AI generated garbage from the comfort of his home.
