Human Resources will soon be no longer needed with AI. You’d best be putting together a AI Resources group that takes the side of management when some little device starts whining.

Do a McNerny style reverse auction for every single job function at 3M, lowest bid gets the job. Every low bid winner must move to India on their own time and dime. Auctions to be held on a quarterly basis to keep stock analysts happy.

Fire the CEO and top three levels of executives and their US based consultants and replace them with India based executives guided by India consultants. Sell off Maplewood campus and all production and distribution facilities and move them to India. Move all Legal, HR, sales, customer service, IT, lab, MT, and engineering functions to India.

Replace CEO and VP's with AI, this will save money from clueless consultants. Use AI also to discriminate hard working people from lazy clowns and pathological L4ars, give raises to them and fire the last ones.

Scrap flexibility and mandate full return to office. This applies to all senior leaders as well. 5 days a week.

Take complaints filed by employees seriously and enforce the Code of Conduct against executives and other senior leaders and not just lower level employees.

I think that even McNerny was talked into dropping the forced “bottom ten percent” ranking after pushback.

No more forced poor employee performane ratings to meet BB's mandated quota of giving out less than average ratings to 10 % of employees.

Eventually lawsuits will pile up against 3M as it happened to GM.

My gut feeling is that the previous head of HR left because she was against forced ranking, something that has never been implemented before in 3M in the last 15 years at a minimum.

Scrap the Career Compass initiative. Look at the executive& leadership teams. Its majority made of external hires. Careers dont exist anymore in 3M.

@OP start by looking at your own house and get it in order quick… HR needs to help shape strategy and building talent and not just being a constant blocker and policeman.
