Thread regarding T-Mobile layoffs

What happened?

Layoffs were just an occasional thing until a couple of years ago. How did we get to a point where they're now happening every few months?

Every few months? How about every Tuesday when the gates are up?

Hello people. Nobody is buying new phones for over 2 decades now. They are not interested and do not have a desire for the worse model. You can watch the news in the cities talk about phones or even put your question into Google ai
It said the same. People are staying on their phones longer. Can't make people shift from their ways.

Supposedly the company fired a "g-y" person with AIDS because he refused to take the jab... allegedly, the possibility of his body having a massive immo-reaction response as a result of the jab was not an acceptable excuse...

All these cute responses. How about you guys realize quickly that they don't know what they're doing that's why the layoffs are the way they are.

DT took majority stake in the company in 2022. When did the layoffs start? Do we need to keep explaining it to you imbeciles, or are you finally figuring it out? Go back to 2020 and ask yourself, what else did they force you to do for their financial benefit?

@OP since 2022 it’s been a perpetual layoff because they hit different teams at different times. My perception is that it’s always been every few months, now just in smaller batches. They’ve handled them terribly post merger and continue to do so.

@OP Sprint... It's their business model

They're just following every other company's lead. There is not a single original thought in the head of anyone on the SLT.

Sprint leadership have forced out TMUS ones and brought their bad habits, flawed visions, and poor polices with them. Lori Ames is a prime example of this. Engineering is a nightmare.

Agreed with the first two responses.

Sprint headcount should have been cut after the integration (see USC and multiple other acquisitions in the past). They bs’d the DOJ so they couldn’t be that obvious. Also, it helped that they based in the middle of the country where salaries are lower.

Corporate greed run rampant as we’ve seen the past few years, in particular Outsourcing overseas and being sold the promise of automation.

In summary. The leadership is full of sh-t and we have zero trust in them.

Any bootlicker caring about the "work" these days is way, way, way more of a problem than anyone asking questions. Such a shame that most of them are far too dimwitted to comprehend it...

Too many questions. Not enough work. That’s the problem.

@OP

Senior "leadership" was having a hard time making do with their paltry compensation packages. Some belt-tightening needed to happen.

Just business. Nothing personal.

Sprint... the people from Sprint never left, they just stayed doing the same sh-t they always did which is not getting laid off... we still haven't cut back down to even close to the size of the company pre-sprint days and we never got rid of their debt either

AI? Moving 100% of development to Hyderabad? Setting the company up to sell?
