When Leadership Realizes No One Is Safe

SVPs, VPs, directors…leadership is officially shook. It has finally hit home that no one is safe. Now it’s a survival game, complete with finger-pointing, people throwing each other under the bus, and everyone trying to outlast the next person. Watching it unfold is both wild and slightly hilarious. SF needs a complete leadership overhaul.

@ae agree with your statement that the core business of this company is "buying mortgages and selling their mortgage backed securities". If you look at all "new" things they are bringing into the company, especially heavy AI usage and the processes around it, one has to wonder what are the new things you are trying to invent with AI every hour for the core business? And how they are justified with the cost associated with it? It's like buying a very expensive car to go from point A to point B for within a mile and paying exuberant insurance and maintenance for it. As leaders, they are not able to tell the truth other than trying to sell snake oil.

@a2 Completely agree. There are some smart people there but unfortunately it doesn't mean their ideas ever get used. It might sound mean, but the company could easily function without 50% or more of the people there. A lot is just busy work that has nothing to do with buying mortgages and selling their mortgage backed securities. Way too much management with nothing to do. They act busy by staring at email all day. Lots of "projects" to look busy but really don't impact anything. Even little items there take forever to get approved.

@OP it's becoming evident that the company can function perfectly fine without any of them. Brain drain, institutional knowledge is all a myth. Created by them, for them, so they can collect exorbitant compensation.

You've worked with these people for years. You know who they are and what they know. They are glorified middle managers at best. They are fu---d outside of this company so they really have no choice but to behave that way.
