Thread regarding Crown Castle International Corp. layoffs

Crown culture at an all time low

Is it just me or is the culture at an all time low? It feels worse than ever before.

@a1 they get paid aplenty regardless how the company does. It creates zero incentive to keep the ship going steady. Steady got replaced with bogus growth claims and short-term exists, woo!

The problem was not the leadership, it was, and apparently still is, the culture. A culture of entitled, low productivity, know-it-alls that did not adjust to the corporatism mentality (right or wrong) that came about when JB was brought in. CC was a passive income REIT that wanted to jump in the Enterprise world of telecom, rightly so. Seeing how automation was taking over whatever business model they had milked to the bone for 15+ years. Yes, they overpaid for "fiberco", but the leadership was also sabotaged by those who did not see their own path of growth in that new environment.
The ones that are still complaining are those who did not develop a skill set that is rentable and thought they could ride this money train to retirement. Glad to be out of that sh7t hole, good riddance to those who stayed and the middle finger to those who thought they were so much better than they realized, now that their unemployable.

You know what would be a great idea for even better collaboration? Since you're already down here, it would be great if you could just sort of take care of the cockroach problem we've been having in here. For now, why don't you go ahead and get yourself a flashlight and a can of pesticide and..

Blame the people making the decisions. Everyone else could see this train coming from miles away—one bad decision after another. The funniest part? Some departments can barely function now because leadership—already not exactly overflowing with strong performers—put the “disrupters” on the layoff lists. You know, the annoying people who did most of the work, challenged bad ideas, solved problems, pushed for change, and actually cared whether the company succeeded. But hey, why keep those people when you can surround yourself with “yes” people who smile, nod, protect your ego, and enthusiastically agree with the next bad decision? Turns out the people on the list may have won the grand prize: freedom, and a front-row seat to watch the people who said “we don’t need them” discover exactly how much they needed them. Great job, people. 👏😂

I work at TEP and we do work for Crown AE and the work has come to a complete halt as of late. We where told Q3 would be stronger or more busy but we know the carriers are backing up their budgets. Layoff's have been even happing in our company. I think it is globally spread at this point. Worst time to be in telecom!

Office upkeep is also at an all time low. Food in the cafes is expired, water machines & fridges are broken. Bathrooms are atrocious.

You are in a dying industry with no growth and no possible way to grow with a heavy debt burden and a dividend to pay. The culture is about surviving.
