Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Delighting customers !

After my departure from GTS last month I went through the process of moving all of my lines (as well as the lines of a handful of friends whom I talked into coming to VZ when I joined) to T-Mo. 16 lines in total. And I have to say, it was a delightful experience.
Only two nags to instead look for "deals", then you get the pin and account # that you need to give T-Mo. They have fantastic deals for people bringing their phone and number from Verizon. In my case the total cost at T-Mo is less than my VZ cost including employee discount (and therefore less than half compared to what I would have paid starting next month since you get one pay cycle of EDP and then it's full price). And I'll get $2k worth of pre-paid master cards...
With 15k people either RIFed or leaving on their own, and an average of maybe 4 lines per employee, that's a cool 60k lines lost. Well done, Dan. And thank you for making it a delightful experience!

The larger point here is that VZ is charging more than its competitors for subpar service and that switching carriers is easy. But nitpickers are gonna to nitpick and find all kind of faults with what is a very simple truth.

LOL, not surprised that you are just finding this out. Been with VZ 18 years, and when Hans messed around with employee phone plans years ago, I switched and went to T-Mobile and have had my personal and family phones with them for years. Like they said in the Godfather, and like VZ is doing now, it's just Businesses! Over the counter generic T-Mobile family plans are cheaper than our "Family discounted" plans and you get the discounts we can't qualify for as employee's. So stupid. Scary part is, when I did it my director noticed I had a "Competitor " phone one day, and questioned me about it, and got chewed lightly about it. 2 years later, He also indicated that since he has a large family, he ended up rolling his family of over saving him over $200 a month! LOL 😆 🤣 😂

@a3 The service in my area has gotten much worse over the last few years. My phone is constantly bouncing between 4G and 5G. It’ll stay on 4G even when I’m right next to a 5G cell site. It’s the opposite of a premium experience.

@a3 The key word in “that’s something management should be paying attention to.” is should! They’re all scheming careerists and only care about their own advancement so don’t hold your breath.

vz employees are cr-pola! Like watching a McDs employee eating a whopper. If Tmo is so great - go work for them. Oh, that’s right- they aren’t an American company and over 70% outsource model. Fact.
Bitter bi---h…

@OP You sound jilted. You key your ex’s car too?
Move on instead of lingering on here, like some juvenile stalker.

I had a prepaid phone and verizon phone for several months in major metro area. prepaid was better service more reliable. as Dark Brandon would say, Not a lie, Jack. Off Verizon’s network paying $30. any carrier is better than Verizon.

get everyone at Verizon fired by convincing customers to port out. ive convinced hundreds

The 60,000 lines might be a bit of a stretch, but I get the point. I’m with T-Mobile myself and my bill is significantly lower.

The bigger question for Verizon is whether customers still feel the premium price is worth it. When your own former employees are moving their families to a competitor and saving money, that’s something management should be paying attention to.
