Sine the move is to pooled resources, the total number can be reduced, and AEs doing initial discovery and getting trained up.
SEs get pummeled again an again

Time to cut bunch of executives making seven-figure salaries
a few of them can be replaced by a 180 dollar claude sub
some are now very arrogant
The company is underperforming, and yet a bunch of executives making seven-figure salaries aren’t thinking about how to grow the business. Instead, they’re obsessed with process optimization, organizational reshuffling, and figuring out how to cut headcount.
Apparently, all that seven-figure wisdom is being put to good use, squeezing every last dollar out of the people at the bottom.
SEDs and SSEMs have done a tremendous disservice to the SEs by trying to make them mini-AEs in a futile attempt to show value and they are business minded.
If this is the case, I wish you luck my fellow AE’s. In this new world, is Cisco going to fix the myriad of products, the never ending challenges with licensing? And don’t even get me started on TAC / software quality.
It takes literally years and years to train SE’s, even longer for them to become good through experience and knowledge. Yet, LFG is going to train AE’s to be technical in a week or two of training classes? Same but even more ridiculous for SE’s… you don’t build an army of world class SE’s by sending them on a few weeks of on-site training. Clueless leadership, completely out of touch.
@a5 so then it would make sense you would only need 50% of the SEs currently on staff, right?
RCA: The SE Executive leadership of TC and MM is disastrous. Too many SEDs and SSEMs worried about kissing up and posturing for their next role instead of actually leading and calling out BS.
More pressure and accountability from SEs - more technical and win the business.
Let’s see how far this goes and pans out. Get all SEs CCIE certified.
Rest get put on LR pool.
SE pooling is part of Phase 2 of LFG which happens in 2HFY27. All the focus is on AEs and for good reason. AEs are being trained to be more technical. AEs will initially use AI for initial SE support then once an opportunity is at Stage 3, then the AE will request an SE from the pool based on the Stage 3 opportunity.
