Thread regarding Bank of America layoffs

Full days in office - meaning?

I know this is a slightly stupid question but the new WPE email says “employees must work in office through the course of their normally scheduled hours” so for most people I assume 9-5? Does anyone know if there’s any actual monitoring rules like min 4/6 hours or if it’s about duration instead (ex 10-6)? Any info is appreciated

Anticipating that they were going to do this, they got zeros across the board on the survey.

Is the requirement to meet 4 out of 6 weeks on a rolling window staying or have they removed that as well?

nothing in the training mentioned badge swipes or vpn tracking. it was pretty generic agreement to adhere.

My MD said that hours will be monitored through being on camera and other mangers in the site tattling on each other. What a way to built trust in team!

@ae of course they hate parents. Harder for working parents to make work their whole identity and drink the cool aid of corporate culture. They know it’s possible to put your head down focus on completing the job and heading home. That’s of course not the main priority of the exec class, they want subservient a$&holes who drone on about ai excellence and ai automation and ai blah blah PowerPoint . Seriously if ai can replace well anyone it’s the exec class , their consulting dribble is exactly how these gen ai models talk . A real leader would have empathy- something these corporate exec drones have nothing of

@bj This doesnt make any sense to always be on camera as a validation method. I'm always on camera 100% compared to my peers and yet I only meet with my manager maybe 1-2 times a week on cam. So if they see me more often remote because those meetings tend to always fall on a WFH day, but I've been in-office 3 days per week, the perception will be I'm not complying? Not sure if I'm explaining this right.

@bm this argument that people were in office from 8-5 pre-Covid is simply not true. I’ve been here over 20 years and we were working from home 3 days per week in 2008. And myWork (official full time WFH program) was celebrated and pushed by the organization. I ran a team of 40 all over the world who all worked from home 5 days per week. All that changed post covid.

@ac same way they did pre Covid when they were in office 9-5

Per the manager guide they are not tracking hours in reporting (only badge swipe). Managers are to keep an eye on employee status to make sure they're in compliance with full day through direct supervision or if you don't work in the same location as your manager, they're supposed to validate by you using your webcam on meetings or ask another manager in your location to report your status if they suspect you are not staying on-site.

If your manager isn't in the same building - Basically it's the honor system + depending on snitches to report people.

I wouldn't be surprised if they created a tracking report in the future similar to what Wells Fargo does (first badge swipe to last seen on network inside the building)

Not worried about the definition of a day until they start tracking hours. It wouldn't surprise me if they built tracking widget and you had to hit a certain # on average like Wells Fargo does. For now the only tracking mechanism is badge swipe. The system depends on snitches to report other employees.

Flock cameras by the doors next. Ha

So no ability to pickup/dropoff kids on in office days, join meetings before/after hours without also working 8 hours in the office...this really doesn't make sense. They need to give us better guidelines as to what specifically is required.

The email has an FAQ attached to it and the response to this question says essentially a full day. the example it gave is if you normally work from 8 to 5, you’re expected to be in office from 8 to 5

@a5 the official faqs say badge swipes mainly but I’d assume also vpn and some locations it says have biometric at entrance which then could also be used for exit. I heard pre Covid from someone in hr that they used to literally use infrared to monitor people sitting in their seats and when… curious abt how required seating and reservations for open seats might be used too

Have we not done enough?!?? Very short sighted and I’ll be responding appropriately. NET PROFIT folks, in THREE MONTHS.

“Bank of America reported a Q2 2026 net profit (net income) of $9.1 billion, representing a 27% increase compared to the same period in 2025. Diluted earnings per share came in at $1.21, and total revenue reached $31.6 billion.”

Lmfao did you read the WPE employee guide??? Adherence with WPE monitored weekly . Not adhering is an input to year end performance rating. Can lead in disciplinary action and termination. BofA will evaluate offering this flexibility on an ongoing basis and not adhering jeopardizes continuation of this flexibility.

Man they rolled up their sleeves to punch down their slaves!
