I've been thinking about what happens if I get the call. Do I start sending applications the next day? Or do I take some time, a couple of weeks or a month, to reset before diving back in? I've seen people do both, but I'm not sure which is right.

Hiring slows to a crawl later in the year due to the holidays not that it isn't slow already. If you don't start right away you might just be better off to wait until after the new year. In today's job market I would start as soon as possible. Jobs could easily dry up more than they already are.
Have been looking and interviewing for some time now. Don't see what the Oracle Ship should be ahead of the game. It is a shame to see a decent org chase the AI dream to destruction, but hey ho. I'll stick to my GBU knowledge thanks
@a8 In my state there is a website, where you complete a weekly survey and document where you applied for a job.
Better get those resumes out right away! The IT job market is brutal for applicants right now.

@a7 In the states, you don’t have to show proof. They very rarely audit you. You actually call in and answer a robotic survey weekly.
You need to show that you are applying to jobs to get unemployment benefits. You even need to show this before your unemployment benefits are approved.
It might be wise to try and hit the ground running and apply earlier so you have a feel of the application processes. You can take small breaks but the longer you take a break, the harder it is to face the fact to hit the job market
