After successfully passing my PIP and last meeting with my manager yesterday. Today IBM sent me a termination letter. No severance. Nothing. Just take your stuff and bye.
My advice your you guys. Do not trust any manager at IBM.

is there any evidence that one passed the PIP? Any document or notification?
@OP Outrageous. Criminal. They can't just change the rules when they feel like it - as in, "So what if you met your PIP goals, we still don't want you;" or "So what if you want severance, we just don't feel like it."
You must get some legal advice here. Immediately go through every document you can access (on-line and in handbook form, if that still exists) that outlines PIP procedures, termination procedures, etc., etc.
You gotta pursue this.

What country? This would be illegal in the USA unless it was part of a larger scale layoff . I don’t see why business unit matters.

Get an understanding the scope of what’s happening, the locations and business units impacted. Why are you not getting this? Are you IBM HR?

@a7 Because it’s not really “personal information” in the way you’re making it sound. Asking where someone is located and which BU they’re in gives everyone a much better picture of which locations and business units are being impacted. That’s the whole point of asking.

And everyone do not trust your managers if you are in this situation. They will smile at you and be your pal and everything is great then stab you in the back. Very common at IBM
@OP - document and save every single form you can. In particular the ones were you successfully completed your PIP. And go talk to an employment lawyer ASAP.
@OP, you might be able to find a lawyer to sue IBM for wrongful termination. As you are not Indian, most likely.
