@gb there is no renegotiation of salary. Most base salary will stay the same with very few yearly raises if any. The benefits bridge will go away and the cut is significant but not catastrophic. Heath costs are the worst part of it. Some Infosys still get paid their STI but it is on a quarterly basis and it is never 100% target, usually between 70-80%. You really have to have a key skill set and also they band you according to your pay not job title so a lot of people get sc--wed as they are mapped over as a managed level but really leads or individual contributors. Unless they are irreplaceable they will get be pushed off the project at first change they company can get due to project margins.

@gt No they can't stop you from retiring, but they do not have to pay you severance.

Incoming rebadge VZW NA - once Jarvis is implemented - which is a workforce management tool- no need for AD’s and wireless FE’s farmed out to third party company. Same pay for one year with cuts every quarter- then renegotiate your salary and position to fit the right number.

Sprint wireless 2.0- look up what sprint did with their operations and Ericsson. Verizon is following the same playbook.

Buckle up folks -

Since trust is out the window, if you are rebadged, can they stop you from retiring before your rebadge date? I would think not...but...

If you get re-badged to HCL or Infosys, you will become "their" employee. As others stated, they give you a 1 year guarantee, your must then apply for your job after 1 year (in some cases), and re-negotiate your salary. If you get laid off, the max severance payout is 4 weeks with zero STI bonus.

@ek Any grant you already have will be vested and paid. Your STI will be prorated for 2026. Sometimes, if they are being benevolent and the rebadge occurs toward the end of the year, they will pay the full STI at target.

So we will loose stock together from previous years and STI for so far this year since we aren’t going to be in last Verizon payroll of December ?

So they're moving more people to HCL... So they can keep their employees productivity while giving them less benefits and pay, and also keep the Verizon name (somewhat) out of the mud. Dirty.

@dd For renewed clarity and for those the genuinely do not know as it's never affected their areas.

Rebadging is basically moving you and your current job and responsibilities to another company, the only 'difference' is your 'badge', hence 'rebadging'. Your total comp is negotiated to stay the same for a given period of time, then adjusted after that. The new company can terminate your employment at any time (like VZ can), but under their severance policy, not VZ.

At stated before, if you refuse the 'rebadge', VZ considers it a resignation as odd as that sounds - you did not quit VZ, they quit on you....

What is rebadging?

@bf The timing of the infy rebadge and VSP was bad for VZ, but good for the employees. The rebadging was to happen before the VSP, but it kept getting delayed and delayed with the initial vendors backing out. GTS had no choice but to announce the rebadge the morning of the VSP announcement. With that timing and the employees pushing back hard, VZ had to give in the severance package.

I agree there should be some severance package for the rebadged as you were hired by VZ under it's employment rules, not a contracting firm. Pretty shady then and now to say not taking the rebadge is considered 'self-termination'.

@at Yes, initially they told us that if we didn't accept rebadge we would be considered a voluntary termination (no severance). That didn't sit well with the 500+ who were retirement eligible and wanted to go. The company made the mistake of doing the rebadge at the same time as the VSP. Once rumblings started around lawsuits, they back pedaled and gave us severance. If the VSP hadn't been going on, I think we'd have been sh^t out of luck. I believe in other rebadge situations (like to IBM, HCL, etc), severance was not given if you declined rebadge. There should be something in the current Severance SPD that references this scenario.

Been there. If you get rebadged , expect to be layed off sometime after that year. Maybe even before. Also you may keep seniority in the new company but benefits may drastically change and seniority may mean squat. Last , once you are with the new company whatever severance you would have gotten before will be gone.

@ae I don't think that there'd be any severance documentation in BenefitsConnection beforehand.

You said "initially". I take they provided extended severance to march the VSP?

In similar situations, other companies treated those declining the rebadge as involuntarily separated, but probably won't happen this time with VZ.

@aa you should be able find the answer to this in the severance document on net benefits. I know it was changed after the 2018 Infosys fiasco when 500 of the 1500 employees who were retirement eligible demanded the enhanced severance due to the concurrent VSP. They initially told us if we declined the rebadge it would be considered a voluntary resignation (no severance). I don't know what the currently policy is.

Will they allow those eligible for retirement to decline the rebadging and treat it as an involuntary separation, triggering severance & unemployment?

I am guessing they will do it before sep4 before iconic starts after the final release.
