Thread regarding Nike Inc. layoffs

Break up from Nike

The "go work for a coal mine" was a bad take, but I see a lot of you are unhappy with your job. My best advice is to just leave.

With your experience, you can probably find something better, whether your pain point is a bad boss, low pay or bad coworkers..

I know the market isn't at its best and it will probably take a little long... but if Nike is what makes you unhappy, leave. You deserve to be happy. Have a great one

@e9 people solutions is not outsourced. They still fall under legal. HR also falls under illegal. You can’t trust any of them. Their job is to protect Nike. Don’t ever forget that. Document everything file any speak up complaints anonymously and if things continue file a claim with the EEOC who will fight for your rights on your behalf. Nike isn’t untouchable, but more people need to speak up because the toxic culture were leaders and VPs are allowed to abuse employees needs to stop, but the only way that is going to happen. Is if people find the courage to speak up. As a 25 year employee who was forced to leave my job because HR/people solutions/legal ignored my complaints and allowed the behavior to continue. Just assume that VPs are untouchable! Stand up for yourself.

If you are Indian, you will be happy at Nike(at least in GT). All us desi countrymen look out for each other.

@a4 I’m gonna stay, do the bare minimum until the next round of layoffs gets me and I get my severance, and complain the whole time I’m doing it.

@OP why should people have to leave? Maybe the problems should be addressed. We have horrible leadership at every level and it’s widespread. Let’s start by getting rid of the REAL problem! I was a 25 year employee that was forced to leave because of “the problem” that HR is still investigating! HR is worthless which is also part of the REAL problem!

@OP They can't. Nike convinced them they were family. It's a bad relationship now, battered syndrome, the resentment strengthens the tie. Toxic soup.
