union EISP to No EISP odd big package to no package

How did we go from a huge enhancement EISP package to buyout anyone and everyone to no EISP yet delayed,And when it’s comes it’s going to be a regular EISP offered to only a handful of inside clerk positions.Did I miss something!!I know rumors are rumors but this was more then that .Now it’s being toned down.I mean did the company not hire enough replacements fast enough or did they just not plan for the loss of an entire older work force .Just very odd don’t matter I suppose we have a 4 year extension but what changed in few months

Eisp for techs was canceled due to objections from managers who claimed they cannot afford to lose headcount, there will be an eisp for clerical positions in the 4th quarter.

@OP I’d imagine the only thing you missed was relying on information on here. There was never any of the things you stated, only a rumor that an EISP was coming. The union has not been notified af any official EISP nor any details as of this time. When it does those affected would be notified. That is where you should be getting information, not from here

@OP There will always be the hint of an offer out there. Keeps those union members hanging on the line! Some stick around years waiting to retire for a possible offer, when they could have already left. Wasting those years away.

@ae What does an extension have to do with not having an eisp?! There’s been a surplus offer almost every year over the last contract extension. There will be offers going forward. Like always, it’s anybody’s guess what titles will be included across the various faa’s. AND there is an off the street hiring obligation on this current extension just as there was the last one. What better opportunity for the company to get rid of the high seniority people with their 5 weeks of vacation and hire new employees and start them at lower wages and vacation accrual? Not to mention the healthcare savings by getting rid of the medicare aged people that are more prone to health problems.

EISP it’s always like this big rumor. It’s coming 2 weeks from now, broad package, real good offer than nothing. Quit believing the hype. Why do an extension to do a EISP, would have included that in the extension. If u want to go that bad just go. Quit waiting around for a couple grand extra, life is to short. Imagine doing an extra 2 yrs to get extra 50k and get a terminal illness 6 months after u retire.

There was probably pushback from management that are already short of people worried that they would not be able to cover the work load.
By me we haven't gotten any new hires and are extremely short handed so I am not sure how they could justify it.
