Thread regarding Charles Schwab Corp. layoffs

@24h if you look at the numbers for jobs creation in recent years and who’s getting them, the overwhelming majority are foreign born in some way. It’s absolutely insane. Totally normal though, it’s the price of progress and I’m proud to take jobs from my countrymen! It’s the American way!

More amazingly, they are only about 1.6% of the population of the USA.

Most senior level folks are white, 90 pct are clueless and all they do is meetings. They get promoted as they are so risk averse nothing blows up and to move a paper they need budget. No one good stays.

I would say 2/3 of middle managers are white and mongst rest Indians are upcoming. The latter work hard but only 50pct are politically savvy. They do hire good ones at this level but the good ones leave.

The bottom feeders are the Indians who are at best average and that is what drives the hate. They dont assimilate and honestly su-k in people skills. The Op should focus on the top and not the bottom

@1q0 Nobody other than the overpaid execs looking to save pennies farming out our jobs want you taking them. None of us benefits other than them either. The life of the average American has only worsened as we have globalized and expanded our economy, I’m quite frankly sick of it and judging by the sentiment not just on this site but elsewhere it’s a viewpoint shared by many.

Things are low so people get things cheap; the dollar value does not fall.
China took industry, so for three decades the value of the dollar has not fallen even though things became less quality.
Pegging currency helps the US export inflation to other countries.
Most importantly, control of other countries using business and soft power.

Take an example: Will India fear if we said we will nuke you? The answer is no. Will China fear we will put boots on ground? The answer is no. But both will think if they said we are moving out of their country. Apple's production line moving to India from China shows China's uncomfortableness. Will the US do the same to India? Yes. Is India learning what is happening to China? Yes.

You have so much confidence... remove just one thing: DOLLAR PEGGED CURRENCY in a decade and you will see what happens in the West. Jobs are not a favor; you're getting an entry-level worker with 20 years of experience.

Schwab is now a Schwindian company.

@18s “Taste of their own medicine,” so to be clear this guy hired and paid by a company in America is telling Americans they are being punished by his presence as a form of retribution for the actions of Europeans before you were ever born, and whose actions don’t even involve your ancestors or anyone that even looks like you. But if you judge his culture for its lies, or his country for its myriad failings, then YOU are racist.

@15j Lie, cheat, scam, steal isn't a color. It is the content of one's character. Certain cultures promote these things more than others particularly many cultures in the Indian Subcontinent. They have an honor system that promotes these things. I prefer cultures and humans who don't follow this honor system.

@12g They work weekends because they need to. They can't build a stable and scalable application. They also run in circles and accomplish nothing when we are trying to resolve an issue. I tell them exactly what to check to find the root cause then they continue talking over me for hours before finally doing what I said.

This has to be due to them evolving in an environment with abundant resources and no winters. They can't comprehend long term consequences hence why they just slap things together and assume it works. This is also why they have electrical wires running everywhere in the streets.

Reason for Indians in sts is that they dont complain about the grunt work and are good at taking orders and willing to sacrifice weekends and family. The white privilege bull sh--s and sells 2x on what they do and are lazy

I have been thinking about this. I think one of the reasons might be that the Schwab command-and-control hierarchy is a good fit with the Indian caste system. What Americans view as micromanaging and nepotism, they may view as just natural.

And I do hear you that there should be restrictions and no visa guy should be replacing an American . However you work at a branch where there is literally none or max very few Indians as branches only hire green cards or citizens . No visa guys . It’s in STS they hire visa candidates . And no Schwab is not having 70 percent Indians . If so it would have been classified as a visa dependent firm . And there are lots of Indians who are green cards or citizens. @OP Hyderabad is 100% Indian. Are you planning to shift there? With the rise of GCCs and visa restrictions, more people are moving there, which could potentially take away the remaining 30% of jobs as well.

@ey I am perfectly fine with you having disgust for me. In fact, I am deeply ashamed that I ever feared being labeled a racist for looking out for my own country and its people. There are enemies of us both foreign and domestic, and those who would pollute our economies and weaken the financial wellbeing of our people for the purpose of a single red penny are the existential enemies of any good American. @cg You have to push back. If necessary, appropriately curt compliance is as simple as, "I am too ill to work, and I expect I should be back tomorrow." If they press for a reason, simply reply, "I would rather not say, but if required I will produce a doctor's note." Depending on where you live even this might not be necessary. At the end of the day I highly recommend you hold your managers to the standards of not just the company that employs them but the state you live in. Whatever the case, document document document.

I am the only indian on my team and I am glad about it. Having an indian manager is a nightmare. They bring the indian people leader culture over here, the micromanaging, less private boundaries about why a sick day, why a PTO etc.

@av This is another problem, many of the thousands of foreigners we employ and work with every day don’t know English that well. Seriously, WHY are we tolerating this? Even the government’s cooked figures don’t paint a rosy picture. This is strictly-speaking a negative relationship for our people. You know, AMERICANS? 2. Cultural differences in leadership styles make it hard for non-Indians, to work on all-Indian teams
3. Many are on H1B visa, and are willing to accept lower salaries

This has probably got to the point already, where it cannot be repaired. Too many have been hired not based on skills, but on other criteria. No wonder that productivity is so low, and Schwab is about a decade behind competitors in terms of infrestructure.

Profit, and Indians hire Indians. This is the end result of any organization that does this. If it looks off to you you are probably an ist or phobe or something, I dunno dude we wanna make more money and don’t care what happens ok
