Was "59.5" for avoiding penalties for early retirement withdrawals? There are ways to avoid those penalties without waiting..... Look up SEP withdrawals..
@108 Same, however only 15 years. Hit 59.5 and retired. I had been asking to be laid off for four years, the day I hit 59.5 I retired and do not regret it for a second. Life is good without Optum in it.
Yes I did.. I was a 22 year individual contributor with a highly valued performance record. They would not lay me off so I retired at 59.5 yo and no regrets.
@v2 still get unemployment
They much rather use tactics such as unattainable goals to tag you as a poor performer to get you fired to save money.
@ap RIF/Layoffs don't lead to lost RSUs?
Nah!! They will not listen to you to get your manager fired. Manager’s food chain will decide their fate. 😂
There’s a reason they stopped the sign up lists. Too many volunteers
Total power move...when the manager who fears for their job finds out their subordinate does not.
I have told both my current manager and last manager I dream of being laid off so it forces me to seek something better because the toxicity of this organization is su-king the life out of. Is the severance great? Far from it but I do feel it's at least money owed to me for their cr-p wages/raises. It's usually a look of shock and "d-mbfounded" on managers faces 🤦♀️
People "raise their hand" often. I think the response depends on your Management and your relationship with your direct Manager. . In my case, I told them I was ok with going if layoffs were to happen. I had their support and they got me on a list.
Yes, of course. Resigning leads to loss of stock options and severance. Staying here suc-s. Getting your manager to help get you laid off is a good strategy once you have the next thing lined up. Duh.
Frequently. And nervous confusion.
