Thread regarding Mutual of America Life layoffs

Train Wreck that everyone watched!

The whole company became a joke once Greed took over. Bad decision, horrible promotions to many young woman that were not competent to assume those roles, but Greed like his pretty young women around. Also he loved to have his "yes" men by his side. What a mess this company has spiraled into. Management used to brag about how they never laid anyone off, now its a common every other year occurrence. So top heavy with incompetent leadership that should have been the first to go, not the front line workers that actually did things. Many EVP's and VP on the sale force should have been shown the door with their useless sales tactics... and if you did not go along or drink the toxic cool aid they were handing out, you were an outcast and would never go any where in the company. I thought it would get better with a change of leadership- no because they were hyper focused on DEI and over paid HR leadership that wanted to shove their agenda down the employees throat when they should have been getting rid of most of the sales leaders in the field. Tom M. would be so disgusted with what has happened to this once great company over the last 11 years. Stay away from this toxic place, stay far away!

@ap the field EvPs offer no value -Mere placeholders. They often admit: - “we don’t know what crms do on a daily basis.” -“We don’t know how technical the jobs are” -“we have never shadowed a crm or a PAS on a daily basis & not sure what they do or how they approach their jobs” - “don’t understand the lack of support the crms are not receiving” - “can’t understand why we don’t sit down with retirees any longer at kitchen tables to garner their spouses assets.”

Everything has fallen off the rails since 2021 w/this set of EvPs / RvPs. Quality control is out the door. Qualifying is out the
door.

Meanwhile they make $500K per year. No value add

  • company can’t figure out how to raise revenue through extra fees, implementing managed accounts, in plan annuities, CITs in 401k plans, along with ancillary fees, higher separate account charges, surrender charges, yada yada yada. ~ A company has to increase revenue & they haven’t been able to do so —A company has to grow. Can’t just cut your way to profitability ~Cut the sales leeches in the field who couldn’t even sell this Android that I type this on > Low skill C-Suite & Sr VPs need to leave, retire, call it quits, call it a day, they are washed up, cooked, spent, burnt.
