Thread regarding Bank of New York Mellon Corp. layoffs

Has anyone successfully used the new homebuyer benefit?

Is there anyone who has been able to successfully use the new home buyer benefit? It seems like you upload a deed or a final closing document and then you’re reimbursed for an amount of $6500?

Does anyone have any personal experience with this yet? Any feedback is appreciated.

@c2 you took the word out of my mouth. Old timers get no break and we tend to get discriminated. Paid off mortage with a lot less than 100k salary. Now we are looking at needed home repairs. This should have been all benefit instead.

@ap+1m0te7ypm I think the salary cap is $100,000. Been here over 20 years, and I don’t even make that much. My dept doesn’t like to promote often and mixed with 2% raises. Was too scared to move to another dept. I too often saw people leave and then be first to be let go in their new group. I guess at least I like the people I work with. It should be 1st time home owners or for one time qualifying home repairs to those under the salary band. I haven’t made substantial home repairs in 10 years, except when absolutely necessary, because I’ve been too nervous about layoffs plus my salary not keeping up with inflation.

Wonder what the actual percentage of employees are actually eliglibe for this since there’s a cap on income. Seems more like a gimmick for a BNY cares and has great benefits talking points.
