Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

MORE VZ outage issues TODAY - Aug 10, 2026

https://downdetector.com/status/verizon/

See the rise in the graph starting about 5:30 AM and rising to steady state about 1:30 PM. Not as large as yesterday (approaching 800 reports, so we know it is much larger than that). From the comments at the bottom of the page the areas affected appear to be in CA and CO.

Hmmm. I wonder if this could have been predicted.......

An outage a day keeps the layoffs away!

Welp, good thing Verizon has an impeccable history of top-notch employee treatment. We can rule out any sort of a disgruntled worker in this case...

@a8 - The original post was made before it was disclosed the outage is (supposedly) due to vandalism.

This happens allot. The majority on the local networks so those don't get any press coverage.

How would anyone predict someone would cut fiber lines? I don’t understand this post at all lol. Are you saying VZ or law enforcement should have predicted this?
