Thread regarding Mondelez International Inc. layoffs

How are we consider managers

We do the same amount of labor work as the merchandisers

Manager is just the name. They will still micromanage you and treat you like cr-p and blame you for everything the mows aren't doing. They will expect you to cover all call offs or short staffed.

@d6 Yeah, the company is handing the mess off to the RTM, then blaming the RTM. There's no way I would take on this dumpster fire that has been smoldering in this toxic place for years. The merchandising staff where I am has been horrendous for years. You think I'm going to own this situation? Not a chance. I'm out of here!

My mom's call in every other day and quit every other month. I have 1 solid one that's been here awhile

@cp but according to our RDR it just means we’re bad managers. While they can’t lead a horse to water

I have 3 MOWs, not counting shared…. And 1 is great, though a little slow, the other two are just trash. And no amount of “coaching” is going to fix them…

@aw So all your merchandiser coworkers are wonderful hard workers? Nah, they aren't. Most of the merchandisers in this area are not hard workers, and do not do a good job. There's a few that are doing what they are supposed to be doing. The rest are lazy and call in sick all the time. Does that help you understand? That is a huge part of this change. So 1 person, the RTM, can pick up the slack of all the merchandisers they are responsible for. It won't be like when the RMS was in charge, and didn't do their job, or get stuff covered. Now, with the new RTM, they are gonna expect stuff to actually get done and covered. Crazy how that works, huh?

@at Why do you all think MOW’S are terrible employees?!
We work like the devil out there. If you are going to be an RTM and you have that type of attitude towards your MOW’S they probably won’t respect you and won’t do a good job.

How else are they gonna make you do the work of everyone else, for salary without overtime? By coming up with a bullsh-t title for you. None of you are really gonna be managers though, it's a title only, no substance. You'll be micromanaged and told what to do every step of the way. You'll be the manager of a group of terrible employees. By manager I mean do your job and try to fix, work, and do all of the merchandisers job and deficits so Mondelez doesn't have to pay what they should and can maximize profits off your back. What a great system...for Mondelez.

@OP managers must have direct reports and be bonus eligible. I guess both those boxes are now checked.

Pro tip. Quit caring. Do the bare minimum. This company obviously isn’t in the business of maximizing profit, so why should we be lol
