The most salient line from the layoff call: "This is not a negotiation." Fine. Embrace it. Give them the one-finger salute back.
I doubt you'll hear that line again tomorrow, though. Even the ELT already knows they've gone too far. Layoffs will have to wait a bit.

Whether it's this week, this month, this quarter or this year, there will be more layoffs, just as there have been layoffs for more than the past 25 years. It never was a negotiation.
Please learn from those of us who moved on before you. Those that made judicious job jumps or at least kept their resumes and interviewing skills active did well. While some who were completely caught off guard did land on their feet some never found their way back to a similar position at another company. Giving "them the one-finger salute back" is a worthless gesture if you keep thinking the company will protect you forever. You are your only true advocate.
