And disillusioned with Fidelity.
Is it my imagination that career moves lateral up or sideways don’t exist?
I feel like I’m spinning my wheels making no progress.
Mind you it’s a good job decent enough pay clearly a nice benefits offering but I’m going nowhere.
I’ve made gains in my skills that show initiative and intellect.
Nothing seems to help me grow or advance in any way, shape or manner.
I feel like maybe it’s time to cut hair and look externally.
What is it they are looking for? I mean I hate to say it but it sure seems like young Asian women rule is it just I’m the wrong gender and ethnicity/race?
Could HR be this shallow?
I’m not speaking sarcastically I happen to be very intelligent, extremely professional and polite and nothing changes regarding my career here.

Take it from someone who work here for long time with not much growth. Fidelity say they care about employees, and they show success stories in front of many people to make it look true. But when you really work here, you see your success is only your own responsibility.
The company does not really care about you or your future. As long as you are not making problems or becoming a risk, they are okay with you. They do not help you grow.
Yes Fidelity doesn't have respect of talent and i saw all old school mangers or degraded from managers post to individual contributors who have 0 tech knowledge and some sycophants lick their managers feet grow faster and run the politics across the squad, or their recent operational model which is totally chaos
@d1 - There has definitely been an uptick of unhappy customers recently, due to poor policy imo. Rushing clients off the phone because of ever increasing metrics and employee morale plummeting are just a few reasons. Plus all of the tech problems.
@az well it’s going to come back and bite them in the a s s because customers hear of the turmoil and there’s enough big institutions to handle money besides Fidelity. Once a storied reputation is tarnished it’s hard to scratch your wake back to the top.
Unfortunately, Fidelity doesn't really care how smart anyone is. It's all about who you know and the politics. The most qualified person often doesn't get the job. You could literally be doing the job and if the hiring manager wants their friend in the higher position, they will overlook you. The HR candidate selection process - google that HR lady meme - POV: the HR lady that majored in psychology at a no name school in Florida is about to throw your resume in the trash. That's the epitome of this place.
