Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

It’s Monday Sep 7

Executives are gathering in RWS for final lists and next steps.

I know there is a group meeting on product management initiatives (Netsuite). So come next Monday it’s happening

Got picked off 8/12/25
Got paid till 9/22/25 without having to return to work,
After they got my PC back, they cut me a check for 6 months severance.
Also my benefits ended 9/22/25
Pretty generous if you ask me, considering I was going to retire on my own 12/31

@as It was Tuesday Sept 2 last year because Monday was ;abor day. Not because it was Tuesday.

@by I seriously doubt that anyone with real knowledge of an impending RIF would discuss that in a hallway.

@am While there have been RIFs around Labor Day, they usually don't do them on the holiday itself. IIRC, the 2017 SUNW RIF was just before the three day weekend.

@as The first wave in 2025 was announced on August 12th, with garden leave until Sept 22 with full salary and benefits for that period. If you had any RSU's vesting during garden leave, you got to keep them; but everything else was clawed back.

But yeah, there was more than one wave last year. From what I heard anyone who got the bad news before Sept 22nd got garden leave through Sept 22, at least in the US. Not sure how that played out in the EU, though I suspect that their garden leave and severance were more generous.

It should be September 1, Tuesday, same as last time. In 2025, it was September 2, Tuesday.
