Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

This is a certain path to ruin

When those who decide who to cut sort by pay, not by smarts, things are bound to start breaking sooner or later. The highest-paid people are the ones who know the most, do the most, and keep things running. Cut them, and you're just accelerating your own decline.

O is out of cash and needs to trim spending to keep the ship afloat to milk more investors. That ship will sink one day and I’ll be here laughing all the way to the back since I shorted them since they hit $180.

Your Oracle salary has absolutely no bearing on how smart or skillful you are.

Pay does not equal knowledge or experience. Higher pay means your nose is damp and brown or you are a new higher who negotiates well.

@b3 Coordinating and expediting? Tech people can't do everything. Let them get the technical stuff out of the way while the less technical folks coordinate between teams and expedite responses and resolutions.

@b3 That's like saying why keep the conductor in an orchestra! Good to have technical people, but if they don't know which way to go or don't know how to act like a team, it all starts to crumble even more. So it needs balance

If they aren't technical why keep them though
