Thread regarding Fidelity Investments layoffs

I’m pretty unnerved right now.

I feel like this is something bigger than just RTO FT.
There are no jobs listed and I’m still waiting on hearing on an internal job I interviewed for weeks ago.
HR is missing in action.
This is really weird it’s like something has happened behind the scenes or they know something cataclysmic is about to drop.
But I’m getting a very bad feeling on this entire shift.
Maybe in six months or even three we’ll see the big picture but right now it’s blurrier than a Monet.

@a2 so quit and work a McDonald's then - I'm sure mom and dad will suspend your room and board for awhile

All I can say is the traffic on the Pike in the morning is already a nightmare this summer, wait until vacations end and school returns. Gridlock late accidents it will be quite a fun time.
I blame Baker and Healey for lockdowns and she’s just stupid clueless yo real world. Likely pushed ceo’s to return bc she’s got no money in the coffers for her stupid ideas.

Sadly my role has a never ending supply of work we have to figure out how to get down. Always understaffed. But we are expected to have no lives outside of work if it means getting it done. It’s not a beacon season. It’s not temporary. You cannot let the work roll from day to day. I am trapped and cannot detach. I need a job. But I need to find something else. It was a horrible mistake coming here, but I was not told.

@b4 hey now, they have hired “parking ambassadors” to assist with this. Absolute joke of a company.

There is a hiring freeze that they won't admit is a hiring freeze. Many reqs were pulled and hiring processes paused.
Some say it's because they're determining what locations reqs should be filled in. Some say it's due to year end calibration happening + budget planning for 2027.

Nothing but good things in Boston Dev Ops...WFH exception confirmed, annual summer family picnics, and free snack deliveries.

They have no plan for where we’re all going to sit and park our cars. that’s what’s going on.

I know everyone has different circumstances, but I would rather be laid off than have to come in 100% in September. I can’t even muster up the energy to do any work after driving in. I’m looking forward to collecting unemployment for a while and enjoying severance. I am sick of going through the motions and hassles. Everyone is so dejected and the environment won’t be much better when there are more cranky people in the office competing for seats and parking.
