Bank layoffs today

Today was the 2nd of 3 rounds of layoffs bank has planned for 2026. The first round back in January was 5%, and today was half that amount at 2.5%, late October will be the final 2.5% to get to the 10% goal set in place by the BOD.
The ones impacted were hired on during 2021-2022 at the beginning of the AML consent order work.

@bg I’m not OP, but if you really pay attention to Mike Moran during town halls and translate the corporate bs he spews out, you’ll catch a lot more than most people do. Mike was the Bank CFO before becoming Bank President and he thinks he is the smartest guy in the room. He uses big words and talks at a level most employees aren’t going to follow, knowing most won’t pay attention or just tune it out. Whenever you start hearing phrases like “efficiency,” “simplifying the way we work,” “ways of working,” “organizational effectiveness,” “reducing complexity,” or “doing more with less,” those are not just buzzwords … it’s telling you where the bank is headed and what’s to come. You just have to connect the dots months before the official announcement.

@a5 yes. On my team alone 6 out of 10 were fired. And a total of 4 fraud teams were reduced to 2 teams of 8-9 ppl each. They were all moved around yesterday. I’m not sure how many in Tampa alone. My team had many remote workers.
